BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University wrestling team will get back to dual meet action on Sunday when it travels to Hempstead, NY for the Hofstra University Duals.

The Huskies (0-7) will face VMI (Virginia Military Institute) at 1 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. matchup with Hofstra.

Bloomsburg spent last week participating in tournament action. Part of the squad took part in the Wilkes Open where the Huskies finished seventh. Individually Bloomsburg had three placewinners. Finishing second were
Ryan Snow (Dexter, NY/General Brown) (149) and
Mathew Carr (Dalton, Pa./Abington Heights) (165), while
Jon Haas (Penfield, NY/Penfield) (125) was fourth.

The Huskies also had two wrestlers,
Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) (133) and
Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) (157), compete at the Midlands Tournament last week. Schutz went 2-2, including a win over No. 21 Joey Palmer of Oregon State, while Colbert was 0-2. Schutz is now 12-9 on the season.

Hofstra is 0-5 in dual matches, including a 0-1 mark in the EIWA, this season. The Pride is coming off a sixth place finish with four place-winners at the Lock Haven Classic this past Tuesday (Dec. 29). Hofstra finished with 43.5 points. Pittsburgh won the team title with 94.5 points.

VMI is 2-3 on the year and is coming off a 23-18 win over Sacred Heart University on Saturday. The Keydets jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never looked back en route to the victory. The Pioneers made a 12-0 run in the final three bouts, but VMI maintained the lead throughout for the win.
