STORYLINE
The Huskies (10-5, 4-3 PSAC) will attempt to keep their hold on a playoff spot in the PSAC and will be hoping to make a final push towards a potential NCAA postseason berth as they host the Crimson Hawks of IUP (7-6, 2-4 PSAC) on Saturday morning. The Huskies are currently tied for fifth in the standings with the top six teams getting a spot in the PSAC tournament. Bloomsburg will also be looking to avenge a 2-1 loss at IUP in a non-conference contest back on September 17. Â

LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies dropped their second straight match on Tuesday evening with a 2-1 double overtime setback at fourth-ranked Millersville. Senior
Sam Peters (Harrisburg, Pa./Mifflin County) gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead with her team-leading ninth goal of the season in the 21st minute. The Marauders knotted the game at 1-1 early in the second half and then eventually won when Olivia Hershey scored at 90:45 to send Bloomsburg to its second consecutive loss. IUP dropped a 2-0 decision at second-ranked East Stroudsburg on Tuesday. The Warriors tallied a goal in each of the two halves and outshot the Crimson Hawks by a 22-4 margin. Alyssa Lerda had five saves in defeat for IUP.
LAST MEETING
The teams met back on September 17 in a non-conference contest at IUP with the Crimson Hawks posting a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the Huskies. Senior
Stephanie Halsted (Fairfax Station, Va./South County) gave Bloomsburg a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute and the Huskies held that lead until IUP tied the game at 1-1 eight minutes into the second half on a goal from Selena West. Ten minutes later, Madelyn Mullen gave the Crimson Hawks a 2-1 lead and IUP was able to hold off the Huskies from there. Senior goalkeeper
Lindsay Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) posted two saves for the Huskies while Alyssa Lerda had four stops for IUP.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg is ranked sixth in this week's Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) coaches poll. On Wednesday, the Huskies were ranked fourth in the Atlantic Region according to the initial NCAA Division II regional rankings that determine which teams make the NCAA playoffs. The Huskies have outscored their opponents by a 38-11 margin this season and rank tied for third in the PSAC in scoring offense (2.53) and third in the league in scoring defense (0.73). Sam Peters (Harrisburg, Pa./Mifflin County) has scored a goal in four straight games and leads the team in scoring with nine goals and two assists for 20 points. She ranks fourth in the league in scoring and is tied for third in the conference in goals. Freshman

SCOUTING IUP
IUP is on the outside looking in at a potential playoff spot in the PSAC tournament as it enters with a 7-6 overall record and a 2-4 mark in the league standings. The Crimson Hawks have scored 20 goals this season and have allowed 20 goals on the year. Selena West leads the team in scoring with seven goals and one assist for 15 points on the season. She is tied for ninth in the PSAC in goals and is alone in ninth in the league in scoring. Amber Bailey is next on the team with four goals and eight points. Alyssa Lerda has played every minute in goal for the Crimson Hawks and has a 1.50 goals against average and a .740 save percentage.
