STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University field hockey team, the number five seed in the PSAC Tournament, travels to fourth-seeded Millersville University in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday afternoon. The teams met on October 18 in Millersville with the Marauders coming away with a 2-1 double-overtime victory over the Huskies.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Millersville, 43-15-4. The Marauders, however, have won the last eight meetings between the two schools dating back to a 1-0 Huskies' overtime victory at Millersville on September 19, 2012. During the skid, Bloomsburg has managed just two goals and has been outscored, 13-2.

LAST MEETING
Millersville extended its winning streak to eight straight over Bloomsburg with a 2-1 double-overtime victory at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium on October 18. The Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute courtesy of senior Sam Peters (Harrisburg, Pa./Mifflin County) before the Marauders scored the final two goals of the contest. Taylor Parker scored with 16:11 left in regulation to tie the game at 1-1 and then Olivia Hershey completed the comeback when she scored 45 seconds into the second overtime. Senior goalkeeper Lindsay Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) stopped three shots in the loss while Samantha Rumler was credited with seven saves for the Marauders.

LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg took second-ranked Shippensburg to the brink on Saturday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium before succumbing to the Raiders in a shootout. Shippensburg's Kylie Huffman was credited with the game-winning goal as the Huskies went 0-for-3 in the shootout round against goalkeeper Ally Mooney. Shippensburg outshot Bloomsburg, 22-11, but senior Lindsay Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) was impressive in goal by posting 12 saves. Mooney had eight for the Raiders.

Millersville ended the regular season with a 1-0 road victory at Mansfield on Saturday afternoon. Carly Castle scored the lone goal of the contest with just 6:35 left in regulation. The Marauders outshot the Mountaineers, 31-6, but Mansfield stayed in the game thanks to 24 saves by goalkeeper Laura Lawson. Millersville's Samantha Rumler did not need to make a save to earn the shutout victory.

ABOUT BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg enters the PSAC Tournament as the fifth seed after finishing the regular season with a 12-6 overall record and a 6-4 mark in league play. The Huskies are ranked third in the PSAC in scoring offense (2.33 goals per game) and are tied for third in scoring defense (0.72). Bloomsburg has outscored its opponents by a 42-13 margin this season. Senior Sam Peters (Harrisburg, Pa./Mifflin County) had her six-game goal-scoring streak snapped in the shootout loss to Shippensburg on Saturday but still leads the team in scoring with twelve goals and two assists for 26 points. Both her goal and point totals are career-highs. She ranks second in the PSAC in goals (12) and is tied for third in the league in points (26). She is also tied for second in the league in game-winning goals with four. Freshman Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech), who has six goals and two assists, and junior MacKenna Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove), who has five goals and four assists, have each contributed 14 points on the season and are tied for second on the team in scoring. Sophomore Abby Sauder (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) is also in double figures with five goals and one assist for 11 points. In goal, senior Lindsay Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) has had an outstanding season as she is 12-6 with a 0.69 goals against average and an .871 save percentage. She is third in the PSAC in goals against average, second in save percentage, second in shutouts (10), and sixth in saves per game (4.89).

ABOUT MILLERSVILLE
Millersville is the fourth seed in the PSAC Tournament after going 14-4 overall and 7-3 against league opponents this season. The Marauders are fifth in the conference in scoring offense (2.11) and second in scoring defense (0.67). The Marauders led the PSAC during the regular season with 175 penalty corner opportunities. Aliza Mizak leads Millersville in scoring with six goals and two assists for 16 points. She is tied for sixth in the PSAC with three game-winning goals. Margaret Thorwart is second on the team with four goals and six assists for 14 points. She ranks tied for fifth in the league in assists. Kathleen Bishop (11) and Erica Tarsi (10) are also in double figures in scoring. Olivia Hershey has three goals - all game-winners - which ties her with Mizak for the team lead and for sixth in the PSAC. Samantha Rumler has played all but 54 minutes in goal this season and is 14-4 with a 0.61 goals against average and a .771 save percentage. She is second in the league in goals against average, sixth in save percentage, and third in shutouts (8).

UP NEXT
The winner will advance to the PSAC Semifinals, hosted by East Stroudsburg, and will take on the top-seeded Warriors on Friday, November 4 at 2:30 p.m.. The PSAC Championship game is scheduled for Sunday, November 6, at 1:00 p.m., hosted by East Stroudsburg.
