CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Bloomsburg University field hockey team remained sixth in the country according to the latest Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II coaches poll released on Tuesday afternoon.
The Huskies gained 19 points in the poll from the previous week and moved to within 19 points of Stonehill, which is fifth. LIU Post collected 18 of the 20 first-place votes and remained the top team in the country with a perfect 8-0 record. Shippensburg moved up one spot and is now second while Millersville also moved up a position to third. Both the Raiders and the Marauders had one first-place nod. East Stroudsburg dropped from second to fourth while Stonehill remained fifth.
Saint Anselm, Kutztown, American International, and Adelphi currently occupy spots seven through ten respectively.
Bloomsburg played only one match last week and earned a 4-1 victory over visiting Mansfield University last Wednesday afternoon. With the victory, the Huskies improved to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings.
The Huskies will play at fourth-ranked East Stroudsburg on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and then will return home to host Seton Hill on Saturday, October 8 at Steph Pettit Stadium. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
