Huskies Drop Battle With Local EWL-Rival

BLOOMSBURG—In a battle of local EWL (Eastern Wrestling League)-rivals the Lock Haven Bald Eagles posted a 27-12 win over Bloomsburg University on Friday evening at the Nelson Field House.
 
The Bald Eagles picked up three bonus-point wins and had one win by forfeit on the night in knocking off the Huskies for the fourth straight year.
 
Bloomsburg got wins from Matt Noble (Bridgewater, NJ/DePaul Catholic (NJ)) at 133 lbs, who posted a 5-3 decision for his ninth win of the season and Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) at 157 lbs, who won 6-3 for his 10th win. Also, Trevor Allard (Mexico, NY/Mexico) at 174 lbs, who won 7-3 for his ninth win; and Kyle Murphy (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) at 184 lbs, who captured his eighth win with a 3-1 decision.
 
The Huskies are 3-6, 0-2 in the EWL, while Lock Haven is 3-3, 2-1 in the EWL. Bloomsburg is idle until Jan. 6 when it hosts Hofstra at 6 p.m.

Perry nearly with a takedown in the opening minute of the match but Bond with a nice move to escape … just moments later, Perry able to convert a takedown to take a 2-0 advantage just in front of the Bloomsburg bench … Perry still on top and adds four back points to take a 6-0 lead after the opening period … Perry chooses defense to start the second period … early escape by Perry extends his lead to 7-0 … Perry able to convert another takedown, keeping Bond in-bounds in front of Lock Haven bench, one minute later to extend the lead to 9-0 … stalemate called and a restart at the middle of the mat … period ends with Perry leading, 9-0 … less than a minute into the period, Perry adds four back points to take a 13-0 advantage … Bond issued a stall warning … Perry adds a point for another stall warning against Bond … with the riding time of 4:21, Perry wins by technical fall, 15-0

One minute into the first period and neither able to score points … Siegrist takes a shot in front of the Lock Haven bench but Stanley able to hold off the chance at points … less than a minute remaining in the opening period and still no score … both wrestlers ride out the rest of the period in neutral … scoreless after one period … Siegrist chooses bottom to start the second period … Stanley tries to slam Siegrist back to the mat on a couple of occasions but is unable to do so and Siegrist scores first point with an escape ten seconds into the second period … less than 20 seconds left in the period and Stanley trying to hold off an opportunity at two points … period ends just before wrestlers go out-of-bounds and Siegrist hangs on to a 1-0 lead after five minutes … Stanley on bottom to start the third and Siegrist quickly converts into four back points to take a 5-0 advantage … Siegrist adds four more nearfall points in the closing seconds and, with the riding time point, earns a 10-0 major decision victory
