MATCH NOTESBLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University wrestling team has a busy weekend ahead with back-to-back matches on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday the Huskies will host Sacred Heart at 2 p.m. on Alumni Day followed by a Sunday afternoon match at No. 6 Lehigh University starting at 2 p.m.
SETTING THE SCENE...
• Sacred Heart is 1-14 on the year with its lone win against Davidson (44-3). Bloomsburg's lone win came against VMI (20-18), while Sacred Heart lost to VMI (27-18). Both teams have lost to Brown, Columbia, Hofstra, Clarion, Bucknell, and George Mason.
• Lehigh has won its last 10 duals and improved to 12-1 on the dual season with Saturday's 32-8 win over American last weekend. The Mountain Hawks won eight weight classes with three bonus wins plus a forfeit. Lehigh is ranked sixth by USA Today/NWCA; ninth by Intermat and 13th by the Wrestling Report.
• The Huskies are coming off a 38-4 loss to George Mason on Sunday in Virginia.
Dominic Carfagno (West Paterson, NJ/St. Joseph Regional) was the Huskies lone winner posting a 15-3 win at 190 lbs. In four other matches the Huskies lost by two points each, including a 3-1, TB1 loss by
Kyle Wojtaszek (Brick, NJ/Brick Township) at 184 lbs. Also dropping their bouts by two points were
Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) (157);
Casey Glunt (Mercersburg, Pa./James Buchanan) (174) and
Saul Wilkins (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./GAR) (285).
• Carfagno leads the team in wins this season with 20 (20-15) and is second in bonus points wins with 10 (four falls; two technical falls; four major decisions).
• Schutz is second on the team in wins with 16 (16-14) and leads the team in bonus point wins with 11 (eight falls and three major decisions). His eight falls are a team-high. Among those eight are five that have come in the first period, including a pin in 1:03 against Bucknell.

Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) (157) is third on the team in wins with 13 and has four bonus point wins (one fall and three major decision).
• At the 83rd annual Wilkes Open the Huskies had three placewinners with
Ryan Snow (Dexter, NY/General Brown) (149) and
Mathew Carr (Dalton, Pa./Abington Heights) (165) finishing second with
Jon Haas (Penfield, NY/Penfield) (125) taking fourth.
• The Huskies also sent two wrestlers to the Midlands on Dec. 29-30 with
Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) (133) going 2-2 and
Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) (157) going 0-2. Schutz picked up a win by fall over No. 21 ranked Joey Palmer of Oregon State.
• Bloomsburg had three placewinners at the PSAC Championships on Dec. 5 with Schutz taking second and Colbert and
Dominic Carfagno (West Paterson, NJ/St. Joseph Regional) (197) each taking home fourth place.
•At the Keystone Classic on Nov. 22 Schutz and
Kyle Wojtaszek (Brick, NJ/Brick Township) (174) both finished in sixth place. Schutz had a win by fall and major decision, while Wojtaszek had a win by fall and technical fall.
