STORYLINE

Bloomsburg will play its next-to-last home game, and against its sixth nationally-ranked opponent of the year, as the fifth-ranked Lakers of Mercyhurst invade Steph Pettit Stadium. The Huskies are hoping to build off of back-to-back strong showings (13-11 win at Gannon on Sunday and a 10-9 loss at #13 Lock Haven on Tuesday) while the Lakers are looking to regroup from an 11-7 loss against IUP on Tuesday.

ALL-TIME SERIES

Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Mercyhurst, 9-8. However, the Lakers have won the last four meetings between the two schools. Bloomsburg's last win over Mercyhurst came on March 29, 2011 (11-9) in Erie.

LAST MEETING

Mercyhurst jumped out to a 7-3 lead and halftime and pulled away in the second half for a 16-8 win over the Huskies at Steph Pettit Stadium on April 18, 2015. Julie Falk (Millersville/Penn Manor) scored five of Bloomsburg's eight goals while Morgan Sherriff (Downingtown/Coatesville) (2) and Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) (1) had the others. Abbey Burnett (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) stopped six shots in the loss.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG

Bloomsburg enters Saturday's contest with a 4-8 overall record and a 2-7 mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings. The Huskies snapped a five-game losing skid with a 13-11 victory at Gannon on Sunday but then dropped a 10-9 decision at #13 Lock Haven on Tuesday. Bloomsburg ranks 11th out of 13 teams in the PSAC by averaging 9.92 goals per game. Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) leads the Huskies with 26 goals and six assists for 32 points. She also leads the team in ground balls (45), draw controls (51), and caused turnovers (30). Kyne leads the PSAC in caused turnovers per game (2.5) and is second in ground balls per game (3.75). Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) is right behind with 24 goals and seven assists for 31 points. Turner is also tied for the team lead with seven free-position goals. Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) (17), Kate Shea (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) (16), Lindsey Coyle (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) (12), and Nikki Fisher (Warminster, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy ) (12) have also scored more than ten goals this season. In goal, Abbey Burnett (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) has started nine of the twelve games and is 3-6 with a 12.80 goals against average and a .375 save percentage. Brittney Hegarty (Rochester, N.Y./Rush Henrietta) is 1-2 with a 12.91 goals against average and a .319 save percentage in three starts.

SCOUTING MERCYHURST

Mercyhurst enters with a 12-2 overall record and has already clinched a spot in the PSAC playoffs with an 8-1 conference mark. The Lakers won 11 consecutive games before suffering an 11-7 setback at home against IUP in their last time out on Tuesday. Mercyhurst is third in the PSAC in scoring average (14.00) and leads the conference in shots per game (33.08). Kristin Anderson leads the team in scoring with 37 goals and nine assists for 46 points. She also leads with 73 draw controls. Emily Gebhardt is second on the team with 19 goals and 25 assists for 44 points. Kristina Roberti leads the Lakers with 38 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. The Lakers dominate their opponents in draw controls as they hold a 235-121 advantage in that category. In goal, Gabby Gravino has started 12 games and is 10-2 with an 8.79 goals against average and a .449 save percentage.
