STORYLINE
The sixth-ranked Bloomsburg field hockey team enters the contest with a 7-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings after defeating Mercyhurst in the league opener, 1-0, on Saturday. The Mountaineers have lost six straight and are 1-7 on the season. This will mark the first league contest of the season for Mansfield. The game is Faculty Appreciation Day at Steph Pettit Stadium.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will mark the 50th meeting in the all-time series between the two schools with Bloomsburg holding a commanding 46-2-1 overall record against Mansfield. The Huskies defeated the Mountaineers, 6-0, back on September 14 of this season.

Bloomsburg got a goal from sophomore
Abby Sauder (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) with less than 16 minutes left in regulation to propel the Huskies to a 1-0 victory over Mercyhurst on Saturday at Steph Pettit Stadium in the PSAC opener for both teams. The Huskies outshot the Lakers, 19-2, and held a substantial, 21-3, advantage in penalty corners. Senior goalkeeper

The Mountaineers, meanwhile, dropped a 1-0 decision at Queens University of Charlotte on Sunday, despite outshooting the Royals by a 12-5 margin. Senior goalkeeper Laura Lawson made one save in the loss.

Lindsay Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) is tied for first in the league with six shutouts and ranks second in both goals against average (0.44) and save percentage (.897).
SCOUTING MANSFIELD
Mansfield enters with a 1-7 overall record and has lost six straight. This will be the first PSAC contest of the season for the Mountaineers. The team is last in the PSAC in scoring offense as it has scored only seven goals in eight games this season. Meanwhile, the team has given up 25 goals (3.13 per game), including six to Bloomsburg in a meeting on September 14. Junior Katie Lipski leads the team with two goals and one assist for five points while freshman Christie Buyer has two goals for four points on the season. Senior goalkeeper Laura Lawson has seen most of the action in goal and is 1-7 with a 2.95 goals against average and a .741 save percentage.
