BLOOMSBURG NOTES
The Huskies come into the weekend with a 3-11 overall record and an 0-3 mark in the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL). Bloomsburg suffered three losses at the Pitt Duals last weekend - a 29-14 decision against Virginia Military Institute (VMI), a 32-6 loss to #23 Pittsburgh, and a 28-17 setback to Columbia. The Huskies have dropped nine straight dual and have not won since defeating the University of Indianapolis, 20-12, at Purdue University on November 13.

Freshman Kyle Murphy (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) went a perfect 3-0 last weekend to improve to 15-8 on the season. Redshirt freshman Grant Bond (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) and redshirt freshman Trevor Allard (Mexico, NY/Mexico) each went 2-1 at the Pitt Duals. Bond improved to 7-9 while Allard moved to 14-11 on the year. The Huskies also got single victories from freshman Reid Stanley (Fredericksburg, OH/Waynedale), senior Kevin Laubach (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area), and freshman Willy Girard (Williamstown, Pa/Williams Valley).

For his efforts last weekend, Murphy was named the EWL's Co-Freshman of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. He shared the honor with Edinboro's Dakota Geer. He started his day at the Pitt Duals with a 4-0 victory over Chris Beck of VMI and then followed that performance with a 3-1 victory, in overtime, over Pittsburgh's Donovan McAfee. Murphy capped off his day with his first collegiate major decision win - a 12-4 victory over Columbia's Donny Donnelly.

Bond, meanwhile, had both of his wins last weekend earn bonus points. He posted a 23-7 technical fall win over VMI's John Reed and then won by major decision over Columbia's JP Ascolese, 16-4.

The Huskies lead the all-time series against Brown, 2-1, and they lead Sacred Heart, 4-1.

Bloomsburg will return home next weekend to host a pair duals. The Huskies will take on Rider University on Friday night, January 27, at 7:00 p.m. and then will host Bucknell University, in the final home dual of the season, on Sunday, January 29, at 2:00 p.m.

BROWN NOTES
The Bears enter the contest with a 1-2 overall record. Brown defeated Virginia Military Institute, 33-7, last Saturday at the Pitt Duals, sandwiched in between a pair of losses to Edinboro (39-3) and Rider (32-9).

Earlier in the season, the Bears had three placewinners at the Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open on November 13 and at the Franklin & Marshall Open on January 7.

The Bears have seven wrestlers with double digits in victories this season, led by Jon Viruet's 16-11 record at 165 pounds. Viruet leads the team with four major decision victories. CJ LaFragola is second on the team with a 14-9 overall mark.

Zeke Salvo has a dozen victories this season while competing at 141 pounds. Seven of his twelve wins have come by fall.

SACRED HEART NOTES
Sacred Heart enters Sunday's dual with a 2-5 overall record. In their most recent dual, the Pioneers dropped a 38-3 decision to Hofstra on January 13. Elliott Antler picked up Sacred Heart's only victory with a 6-2 decision over Hofstra's Michael Oxley.

Prior to that dual, Sacred Heart suffered a 43-4 loss at Buffalo on January 8. Casey Mitchell posted the Pioneers' only victory in that dual, by major decision over Kobe Garrehy.

Sacred Heart's victories came against Shippensburg on November 5 by a 30-15 final and at Davidson, 27-11, on December 3.
