BLOOMSBURG NOTES:
The Huskies come in with a record of 3-6 overall and 0-2 in the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL). Bloomsburg last competed in the Wilkes Open on December 22 and finished fourth overall in the team standings with a total of 52.5 points. The Huskies have lost four straight duals - most recently dropping a 27-12 decision to Lock Haven on December 16.

Bloomsburg had three placewinners at the Wilkes Open - sophomore Matt Noble (Bridgewater, NJ/DePaul Catholic (NJ)) and freshman Kyle Murphy (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) each finished second at 133 pounds and 184 pounds, respectively, while redshirt freshman Trevor Allard (Mexico, NY/Mexico) placed fourth at 174 pounds.

Noble started the day with a 6-1 victory over Michael Scaravalli of Rhode Island College before posting a 5-3 decision over Theo Powers (unattached) of Brown University in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Noble defeated Tariq Wilson (unattached) of North Carolina State, 14-10, before falling in the finals to Joe Lobeck (unattached) of Lehigh University, 8-3.

Murphy defeated Michael Gallagher of Rhode Island College, 7-4, to open his day and then pinned Lehigh's Paul Dunn in the quarterfinals. Murphy then held on for a 3-2 victory over Hofstra's Cory Damiana in the semifinals before suffering a hard-fought, 1-0, loss to Stephen Loiseau (unattached) of Drexel in the finals.

Bloomsburg has won three of the five duals against Hofstra in the all-time series. The two teams last met on January 19, 2014 at the Nelson Field House with the Huskies posting a 24-21 victory over the Pride. The win snapped a two-match losing streak in the series. The Huskies are 7-22 lifetime against the Fighting Scots in the all-time series. The teams last met on December 3, 2015 in Edinboro with the hosts defeating Bloomsburg, 37-12. Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) and Brendon Colbert (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) both posted falls to account for Bloomsburg's 12 points. The Huskies' last victory over Edinboro came on January 25, 2013 - a 19-18 win at the Nelson Field House. The Huskies have won only two of the last 23 meetings between the two schools after starting 5-1 in the first six matchups.

HOFSTRA NOTES:
Hofstra enters the dual with a 1-2 overall record and an 0-2 mark in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA). The Pride most recently finished in fifth place at the Lock Haven Classic on December 29. In dual competition, Hofstra has not competed since December 9 when it suffered a 21-11 setback at Binghamton.

At the Lock Haven Classic, freshman Sage Heller claimed the individual title at 174 pounds while sophomore Ryan Burkert took second at 149 pounds. Heller went 4-0, including a 9-5 victory over Virginia's Garrett Peppelman (unattached) in the finals. Burkert went 4-1, suffering a 9-2 loss to George Mason's Sahid Kargbo in the finals.

Redshirt freshman Jake Kaminsky was 3-2, including two technical fall wins, at 157 pounds at Lock Haven while freshman Jacob Martin was 2-2 at 125 pounds.

Heller leads the Pride with a 17-7 record in his true freshman season. He has won eight of his last ten matches but is only 1-2 in dual competition this season.

In its last dual against Binghamton, Hofstra got victories from Vinny Vespa, by technical fall, at 133; Connor Burkert, by decision, at 141; and Nezar Haddad, by decision, at 197.
