DAY THREE RESULTS
PSAC CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

YORK, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's swimming team remained in second place after day three of competition at the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center. The Huskies have a total of 771.5 team points and continue to trail only West Chester (1349) in the overall standings.

In the opening event of the night, the Huskies had three top-eight finishers in the 500-yard freestyle - all of whom posted NCAA "B" marks. Senior Brooke Gilson was Bloomsburg's top finisher as she placed fifth overall with a time of 5:02.67. Freshman Rebecca Cubbler was seventh with a time of 5:03.15 while junior Karly Hursey (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) was eighth, touching the wall in 5:03.96.

Freshman Kaitlyn Floyd (Mertztown, Pa./Kutztown) finished fourth in the "B" final, 12th overall, with a time of 5:08.14 while junior Lauren Minford (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) was 19th overall and finishing third in the "C" final with a mark of 5:17.84.

Sophomore Sydney Mercer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Millville) took eighth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.65. Freshman Kiera Wadsworth (Blakeslee, Pa./Ridley) was sixth in the "B" final - 14th overall - with a time of 59.26 while redshirt sophomore Mary Kate Boylan was eighth in the "B" final - 16th overall with a time of 59.77. Freshman Deanna Shuster (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) also scored for the Huskies as she finished 20th overall - fourth in the "C" final - touching the wall in 1:00.55.

Two top-eight finishers highlighted Bloomsburg's showing in the 100-yard breaststroke. Junior Sarah Ritter (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) was fifth overall with a time of 1:05.88 while sophomore Kelsey Neff (Elysburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) took eighth after finishing in 1:07.01. In the "B" final, Minford was sixth (14th overall) with a time of 1:08.26 while senior Connie Medura was seventh (15th overall) after touching the wall in 1:08.47.

In the final individual event of the night, redshirt junior Courtney Middleton (Vineland, N.J./Vineland), senior Colleen Finias, and redshirt senior Kaci McIlmoyle all competed in the "B" final of the 200-yard butterfly. Middleton took second in the race (10th overall) with a time of 2:11.36 while Finias was right behind to finish fourth (12th overall) with a time of 2:11.60. McIlmoyle was seventh in the "B" final - 15th overall - with a mark of 2:12.92.

The Huskies' 800-yard freestyle relay team finished second in the final event of day three. The team of Gilson, Floyd, Hursey, and Cubbler touched the wall in 7:40.50 - just behind West Chester in the event.

Bloomsburg will look to keep its hold of second place on the final day of competition Sunday. The preliminaries get underway at 10:00 a.m. while the finals will begin at 5:00 p.m.
