STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday night, March 15, when it heads to the University of Tampa for a 7:30 p.m. start. Both teams are coming off losses on Monday night - the Huskies fell at fifth-ranked Florida Southern, 21-10, while the Spartans lost at home to Slippery Rock, 13-12.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This marks the first meeting between the two schools in the all-time series.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies opened the season with back-to-back home wins over Philadelphia and Wilmington before suffering their first loss of the season on Monday night at fifth-ranked Florida Southern. Bloomsburg has outscored its opponents, 37-26, through the first three games and it holds a 79-65 advantage in shots early in the season. Senior
Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) leads the Huskies in scoring with six goals and five assists for 11 points. She is also tops on the team in shots (14), shots on goal (11), and draw controls (14). Kyne has 106 career goals and is three shy of tying Kim Springman for 13th on the school's all-time list. She has also moved into 13th on the school's all-time career scoring list with 141 career points. Junior
Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) leads the team with seven goals this season and is second on the team with eight points. Sophomore
Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) (six goals, one assist)Â and freshman
Sydney Collins (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) (four goals, three assists)Â are tied for third on the team with seven points apiece. In goal, freshman
Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) has started all three games and is 2-1 with an 8.67 goals against average and a .509 save percentage.
SCOUTING TAMPA
The Spartans are 4-4 on the season but have lost each of their last two contests. Tampa features five players with at least 20 points through its first eight games of the year. Amanda Rom leads the Spartans with eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points. She also ranks second on the team in ground balls (18) and draw controls (15) while ranking third on the team with eight caused turnovers. Maggie Gladden has 16 goals and six assists for 22 points and ranks second in both goals and points. Natalie Carraway and Amanda Voges have 21 points each while Rachel Crawford has chipped in with 20. Voges leads the team with 19 goals on the year. In goal, Mackenzie Hackett has started all eight games and is 4-4 with an 11.81 goals against average and a .282 save percentage. Jaime Austin has appeared in six contests and has a goals against average of 8.65 and a save percentage of .318.
