PREVIEW: Women's Lacrosse Entertains Wilmington on Thursday Afternoon

STORYLINE

Bloomsburg hosts Wilmington in its final home game before hitting the road for four consecutive road contests, including two matchups in Florida for its spring break trip.

Today's matchup will be the first between Bloomsburg and Wilmington.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG

The Huskies enter today's contest with a record of 1-0, having defeated Philadelphia, 9-4, last Friday at Steph Pettit Stadium. Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) led the way with three goals, while freshman Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) racked up nine saves to pick up her first collegiate win.

Additionally, Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) tallied two goals and an assist, and was aided by Tori Wigand (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South), who fired two shots past the goalkeeper.

SCOUTING WILMINGTON

The Wildcats enter the matchup with a record of 1-2 on the season. The Wildcats opened their season on Feb. 25, with a 13-9 loss to Shippensburg, but rebounded to score an 11-8 road win at Keiser on Feb. 27. Most recently, Wilmington fell, 20-7, to Saint Leo last Wednesday. 

In the loss, Gabby Spalt led the way with two goals and an assists, while La'Dae Boykin tallied two scores for the Wildcats. Maddie Hurm took the loss in net, but recorded 12 saves for Wilmington, who had 26 ground balls and 15 shots on goal.

For the season, Spalt leads the team with six goals and eight total points. Boykin and Shawna Chopko follow her with five goals apiece, while Lashay Ross, Megan Card and Spalt are tied for the team lead with two assists each.

In net, Hurm has started all three contests and made 29 saves for Wilmington.

UP NEXT

The Huskies will travel to Florida for two contests, one versus Florida Southern, and another against the University of Tampa. Bloomsburg faces the Moccasins on March 13 in Lakeland, Fla., and then travels to face the Spartans on March 15, in Tampa, Fla. 

Following its Florida trip, Bloomsburg will begin PSAC play at Shippensburg on March 18, and then battle at East Stroudsburg on March 21.
