BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's outdoor track and field team will be hosting the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships at Robert B. Redman Stadium beginning on Thursday. The meet will get underway with the start of the heptathlon and the running of the 10,000-meters on day one. A full slate of competition will take place on Friday and Saturday.

Ticket prices are set by the PSAC at $10 for adults and $5 for students. All-session passes are $15 and $7 respectively. All students from PSAC institutions are admitted free with valid ID.

The Huskies will bring a strong contingent to Redman Stadium this weekend and should be in the mix for both individual titles as well as the overall team championship. Senior Teresa Ortiz (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) will be in the hunt in three events as she enters the weekend seeded fifth in the 800-meter run, second in the 1500-meter run, and 12th in the 5000-meter run. Senior Alyssa Barthelmes (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) is seeded in the top eight in both the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash. She enters the weekend eighth in the 200 and fifth and the 400 and will be one of the favorites to be on the podium in both events. Junior Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) will also be one to watch in the 5000-meter run, where she is fifth, and the 10000-meter run where she is ranked second.

Others seeded in the top ten on the track include senior Keelan McDonald (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) in both the 5000-meter run (eighth) and the 10000-meter run (third), senior Jessica Quesenberry (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) in the 3000-meter steeplechase (fourth), and sophomore Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, PA/Montoursville Area) in the 400-meter hurdles (eighth).

Bloomsburg is also ranked in the top eight in both the 4x400-meter and the 4x800-meter relay events.

In the field events, senior Joselyn Estrada Pascual (Milton/Milton) is the top-ranked athlete in the high jump and should be one of the favorites to claim the title in that event. Meanwhile, senior Kaylee Caruso (Montoursville/Montoursville) is the defending outdoor champion in the long jump and is seeded second this season - only to Shippensburg's Sarah Hunt - in the event. Caruso is also sixth in the triple jump and should be a factor there.

O'Malley is also in the top ten in both the long jump (fourth) and the triple jump (eighth).

Junior Rachael Sullivan (Gettysburg/Gettysburg) could reach the podium in both the discus (sixth) and the hammer throw (tenth) while freshman Amanda Aulenbach (Fleetwood, PA/Oley Valley) is fourth in the javelin and sixth in the heptathlon. Aulenbach competed in the heptathlon just once this season and posted 3980 points at Kutztown's Mondschein Multi - sixth-highest in the PSAC this year.
