STORYLINE
The Huskies will be looking for their second consecutive victory on Wednesday when they host Mansfield University. Bloomsburg dropped one spot in the latest Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll, released on Tuesday, and is now ranked seventh in the country. The Mountaineers, meanwhile, enter with a 3-3 overall record after going just 2-16 a season ago.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Mansfield, 47-2-1. Last season, the Huskies won both meetings between the two schools - 6-0 at Mansfield on September 14 and 4-1 in Bloomsburg on September 28.

RHOADS WATCH
Head coach Nikki Rhoads is in her eighth season as the head coach of the Huskies and is just two wins away from becoming the second coach in program history to reach 100 career victories. Rhoads has a career record of 98-45 as the Bloomsburg head coach and trails only legendary coach, Jan Hutchinson, in career wins at the school.

LAST TIME OUT FOR BOTH TEAMS
Bloomsburg snapped a modest two-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory at Mercyhurst University last Saturday. Senior MacKenna Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and junior Abby Sauder (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) scored the goals for the Huskies - both in the second half - while freshman Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) earned her first collegiate shutout with three saves. The Huskies improved to 21-0 lifetime against the Lakers in the all-time series.

Mansfield gave everything fourth-ranked West Chester could handle on Saturday but ultimately fell by a 2-1 count to drop to 3-3 on the season. Larissa Motts scored the lone goal for the Mountaineers early in the second half to tie the score at 1-1 before the Golden Rams scored with under three minutes left in regulation to earn the win. Brittany Ryan had a career-high 24 saves in the loss.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies enter the contest with a 4-2 overall record and got back on track last Saturday with a 2-0 win at Mercyhurst to snap a two-game losing skid. Bloomsburg is outscoring its opponents through six games by a 24-11 margin and it ranks tied for second in the PSAC in goals per game (4.0). Senior MacKenna Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) leads the Huskies in scoring with five goals and three assists for 13 points. She is fourth in the PSAC in scoring and ranks tied for fifth in the league in goals. Mahan has already tied her career-high in goals and is just one point shy of tying her career-high of 14 points - both of which she established last season. Junior Abby Sauder (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) leads the team in goals (6) and is second in points (12), already setting new career-bests in both categories. She has scored at least one goal in five of the six games and is tied for third in the PSAC in that department. Junior Brooke Zeiders (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) is also in double figures in scoring with four goals and two helpers for 10 points. In goal, freshman Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) has seen all but 13 minutes of action this season. She is 4-2 with a 1.86 goals against average and a .703 save percentage.

SCOUTING MANSFIELD

Mansfield has already surpassed its win total from a season ago as the Mountaineers come in with a 3-3 overall record on the year. The team has played a lot of low-scoring contests this season as the team is ninth in the league in scoring with just nine goals through six games. However, the defense has given up only seven markers on the year. Larissa Motts is the player to watch as she has scored four of the team's nine goals and leads the way with nine total points. Brittany Ryan has been superb in goal as she has a 1.17 goals against average and an .873 save percentage. She leads the PSAC in saves per game (8.00) while ranking second in save percentage.

UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will have a week off before opening conference action next Wednesday, September 27, at home against Kutztown. Start time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
