SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg has won six straight and is unbeaten in its last seven (6-0-1). Over the weekend, sophomore
Mackenzie Gebhardt (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) posted both game-winning goals in the 1-0 victories over Seton Hill and East Stroudsburg. Gebhardt scored just 91 seconds in on Friday against the Griffins and then scored with 4:29 left in regulation on Sunday at East Stroudsburg. The goals were the first two game-winners of her collegiate career and she has now scored one goal in three straight matches and in four of the last five. Redshirt sophomore
Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) totaled seven saves in the two games (six against Seton Hill) to record her PSAC-leading eighth and ninth shutouts of the season. Her nine shutouts on the year are tied for third-most in a single season in program history. Heather Hartman holds the record with 12 during the 2001 season while Tracy Wirth posted 10 during the 1998 campaign. She has allowed only one goal in the last 641:06 of action as she lowered her goals against average to 0.38 while increasing her save percentage to .857 on the year. Balanced scoring has been the theme for the Huskies on the offensive end this season. A total of 16 different players have registered at least one point with 13 of those players scoring at least one goal on the year. Barber leads the team with four goals and four assists for 12 points. She has 20 career assists which has moved her into a tie for fourth on the school's all-time list with Patricia Cobane (1992-95). Barber also leads the team with three game-winning goals which puts her in a tie for sixth in the conference in that department. Gebhardt has moved into second on the team in scoring with four goals for eight points. Sophomore
Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) is next with one goal and a team-high five assists for seven points. She is tied for fifth in the conference in assists. Sophomore
Natalie Holmes (Laurel, Md./Archbishop Spalding) has two goals and two assists for six points while senior
Taylor Sneidman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) has added two goals and one assist for five points. Sophomore
Alex Burrows (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) (two goals) and freshmen
Rachel Clouser (Grantville, Pa./Lower Dauphin) (one goal, two assists) and
Nicole Varano (Paxinos, Pa./Mt. Carmel) (one goal, two assists) have each contributed four points. Defensively, the Huskies have allowed only five goals in 13 contests this season - second fewest in the PSAC behind Kutztown which has given up three. Bloomsburg has allowed a PSAC-low 36 shots on goal this season and has conceded only 77 shot attempts all year. Hawkins has played all but 11 minutes in goal for the Huskies this season. She leads the conference in shutouts with nine, is second in goals against average, and is third in save percentage.
