STORYLINE
The tenth-ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team travels to Erie to take on the Lakers of Mercyhurst University in a crucial Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup for both teams. The Huskies and the Lakers are looking to keep their postseason hopes alive as they enter the contest tied for seventh in the league standings - one game behind Millersville for the sixth, and final, playoff spot.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg is a perfect 22-0 lifetime against Mercyhurst in the all-time series. Last season, the Huskies won a pair of two-goal games against the Lakers after earning a 2-0 win in Erie on September 16 followed by a 3-1 victory in Bloomsburg on October 7. In the home win,
Geneka Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) scored a pair of goals while
Willow Perkins (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) scored the other.
MacKenna Mahan (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and

Bloomsburg is tied for seventh in the league with an 8-5 overall record and a 2-4 mark in league play - one game behind Millersville which occupies the sixth, and final, playoff spot. The Huskies are coming off of a 2-1 victory over Mansfield on Tuesday afternoon as senior
Tali Wehner (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) scored a goal and added an assist in the victory. Freshman
Arden Morgans (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) also scored for the Huskies who had to hold off a Mansfield rally in the second half. Sophomore
Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) stopped eight shots, five in the second half, to improve to 4-4 on the season. Junior
Tesa Hoffman (Freeburg, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) leads the Huskies in scoring with career-highs in goals (5), assists (5), and points (15). She is tenth in the league in points per game (1.25) and is tied for sixth in assists. Senior
Erica Krebs (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) has also established career-bests in goals (5), assists (4), and points (14) this season. Junior
Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech) is third on the team with two goals and three assists for seven points while Wehner is next with two goals and two assists for six points. Eleven other players have at least one point on the season - nine of those with at least one goal - to help a balanced scoring attack. In goal, Sheply and sophomore
Hannah Barnard (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) have split time. Barnard started the first five contests and is 4-1 with a 1.08 goals against average and an .824 save percentage. Sheply has started the last eight and is 4-4 with a 1.53 goals against average and an .810 save percentage. She leads the league in save percentage, is tied for third in shutouts with two, is fifth in goals against average, and is fourth in saves per game (6.38).

SCOUTING MERCYHURST
After starting 1-8, the Lakers are 3-2 in their last five and enter Saturday's contest with a 4-10 record overall and a 2-4 mark in the PSAC. They are tied for seventh, with Bloomsburg, in the conference standings. In their last game against IUP, the Lakers got an early first-half goal from Clare Ahern and then held on for a 1-0 victory over the Crimson Hawks. Ahern leads the team in scoring with six goals and three assists for 15 points. She currently ranks ninth in the conference in points per game (1.36) and is tied for fourth in game-winning goals with three. Hayley Skidmore is second on the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists. Victoria Triaga has started six games in goal for Mercyhurst and has a 1-6 record, a .574 save percentage, and a 3.73 goals against average. Libby Jones has started five games and has posted a 3-2 record. She currently ranks seventh in the conference in save percentage (.743) and is tied for third in shutouts (2). She has also posted a 1.57 goals against average.
