STORYLINE
Bloomsburg will play its final non-conference game of the season when it entertains Queens University of Charlotte. The Huskies will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss at Kutztown on Wednesday while the Royals come in with a six-game winning streak after a season-opening loss against Millersville. Queens is in only its third year of existence.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg has won each of the previous two meetings between the two schools. Last season, the Huskies opened the year with a 7-2 win over the Royals in Charlotte, North Carolina. Six different Bloomsburg players scored at least one goal with Abby Sauder (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) leading the way with a pair of tallies in the victory. Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) started and made one save for her first career victory. Bloomsburg outshot Queens, 28-9, for the contest.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies, ranked sixth in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II poll, will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss at eighth-ranked Kutztown on Wednesday night which opened league play. Junior Tesa Hoffman (Freeburg, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) entered the season with two goals and one assist for five points in her first 38 collegiate games but leads the team in scoring this season with five goals and four assists for 14 points through seven games in 2018. She is tied for second in the PSAC in assists while ranking in a tie for fifth in points per game (2.00) and in a tie for sixth in goals. Senior Erica Krebs (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) is also off to a fast start with four goals and two assists for ten points. Krebs is eighth in the league in points per game (1.43). Junior Ali McKay (Dover, Del./Polytech) is third on the team with a goal and three assists for five points. Eight other Huskies have at least one point on the season to help a balanced scoring attack. In goal, sophomore Hannah Barnard (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) has seen the most action as she is 4-1 with a 1.14 goals against average and an .824 save percentage. She leads the PSAC in save percentage and is tied for third in the league with two shutouts. She also ranks fourth in goals against average and third in saves per game (5.60). Sophomore Dana Sheply (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) has started each of the last two games in goal and is 1-1 with a 0.50 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.
 
SCOUTING QUEENS (NC)
After a season-opening loss against Millersville, the Royals have rattled off six consecutive victories to move their record to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas. Queens does have one victory over a PSAC opponent this season as it knocked off Mansfield, 3-2, on September 16. Most recently, the Royals defeated Coker, 6-3, at home on Wednesday afternoon. Queens trailed 3-2 in the 40th minute before scoring four unanswered tallies to earn the 6-3 win. Karla von Ehren posted a hat trick to pace the Royals offensively. von Ehren and Mazvita Mtisi are tied for the team lead in scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points apiece. Molly Walter (four goals, one assist), Jill Sherman (three goals, three assists), and Mette Beekman (three goals, three assists) have each contributed nine points on the year. Sixteen different players have registered at least one point on the season. Jet van den Berg has appeared in seven games (two starts) in goal and is 4-0 with a 2.20 goals against average and a .688 save percentage. Lanie Walsh is 2-1 with a 3.60 goals against average and a .625 save percentage in five starts.

The Huskies return home on Tuesday, October 9, to host third-ranked East Stroudsburg in a PSAC battle at Steph Pettit Stadium. Start time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
