COMPLETE RESULTS

EDINBORO, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's swimming team rallied from an early deficit to post a 104-97 victory at Edinboro University on Friday night to improve to 2-1 on the young season. The Huskies posted 13 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) marks during the meet and had five different swimmers post individual victories on the night.

Earning wins on the night for the Huskies were freshman Liz Jackson (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), sophomore Lindsay Mooney (Salisbury, Md./Parkside), senior Marykate Boylan (Edgemont, Pa./Penncrest), junior Kiera Wadsworth (Blakeslee, Pa./Ridley), and junior Becca Cubbler (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford).

Jackson got the ball rolling for Bloomsburg when she won the 200-yard freestyle with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:01.37. It was her first individual victory of the young season. The Huskies finished 2-3-4 in each of the next two events - the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley - and had six conference meet qualifiers in the process. Boylan, Cubbler, and Mooney posted the times in the 50-yard freestyle while sophomore Kelley McHugh (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), senior Samantha Carpenter (Sunbury, Pa./Shamokin Area), and senior Sydney Mercer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Millville) had the marks in the 200-yard individual medley.

Bloomsburg got back on its winning ways when Mooney convincingly won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.19 - more than two seconds faster than Edinboro's Nicole Kadlecik. Boylan followed with her win in the 100-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 54.66. Wadsworth then won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.81.

Cubbler finished off the Huskies' victories with a win in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a PSAC time of 5:21.49. She was ten seconds faster than sophomore teammate Chelsea Ackerson (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert), who was second, and a dozen seconds faster than sophomore teammate Amelia Besterman (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley), who placed third in the event.

The Huskies will get right back into the pool on Saturday afternoon, November 3, when they compete against Gannon University. Start time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
