BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's swimming team returns to the Nelson Field House Pool on Friday evening as it will host Clarion University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) meet. Action is scheduled to get underway at 5:00 p.m. The Huskies have won three straight duals after a season-opening loss to West Chester back on October 26. Last weekend, Bloomsburg won a pair of meets on the road at Edinboro on Friday and at Gannon on Saturday.
Against the Fighting Scots, the Huskies rallied for a 104-97 victory as they posted 13 PSAC marks during the meet and had five different swimmers post individual victories on the night. Earning wins were freshman
Liz Jackson (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), sophomore
Lindsay Mooney (Salisbury, Md./Parkside), senior
Marykate Boylan (Edgemont, Pa./Penncrest), junior
Kiera Wadsworth (Blakeslee, Pa./Ridley), and junior
Becca Cubbler (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford). The next afternoon, Bloomsburg posted a 178-83 victory over the Golden Knights getting 11 wins and 22 PSAC swims. Freshman
Carlie Owens (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) had the best performance of her young career as she posted two individual victories and was part of the 400-yard medley relay team the opened the meet with a win. Sophomore
Kelley McHugh (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) had two individual wins while senior
Sydney Mercer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Millville), Boylan, and Mooney each had an individual and a relay victory.
The Golden Eagles enter the meet with a 2-0 record on the season with wins at Gannon, 125-113, on October 19 and at Shippensburg, 112-93, on November 2.
Following Friday's meet against Clarion, the Huskies will return home on Saturday, November 17, to host Dickinson College at the Nelson Field House Pool. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
