STORYLINE
The Huskies continue their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) slate with a trip to undefeated No. 20 Millersville on Sunday (Mar. 25).
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be the 55th all-time meeting between Bloomsburg and Millersville. BU leads the all-time series 31-23.
 
LAST MEETING
Millersville defeated Bloomsburg 11-10 back on Mar. 29, 2017 at Bloomsburg. Millersville scored first less than three minutes in, before Kirsten Wozniak (Oradell, N.J./River Dell Regional) set up Sydney Collins (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) to tie the score at one-all. BU would score the next two goals unassisted, coming from Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) and Nikki Fisher (Warminster, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy), before Milersville would score the next two to tie the game at three with 14 minutes to play in the first half. The Huskies scored the last two goals of the first half with an unassisted marker from Danielle Ward (Albrightsville, Pa./Vernon Township) (10:43) and Cailyn Gormley (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) from Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) (6:32) to take a 5-3 lead to the half. Gormley scored the first goal of the second half 22 seconds in, before Millersville would score the next four to take a 7-6 lead with 15 minutes to play in the half. Back-to-back unassisted goals from Kyne 53 seconds apart put the Huskies back up 8-7 before a Millersville goal with 11:31 left tied the game. Trner scored a woman-up goal from Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) to take a 9-8 lead, before Millersville tied the game 21 seconds later. As the clock ticked down into the final seven minutes, Kyne scored unassisted yet again before Millersville score 46 seconds later to leave the game tied at 10-all. Millersville's winner came with 13 seconds left.
 
The Huskies out-shot the Marauders 29-25 in the contest, including 20-19 in shots on goal. Kyne totaled a game-high four goals, while Gormley scored twice and four others scored once. Jaskuta dished out two assists, while Turner and Wozniak each helped on one goal. Both teams collected 24 ground balls each, with Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) grabbing a team-high five for BU. Julia Stauffer (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) picked up four, while three others each grabbed three. Turner scooped up two, while four others each recorded one. The Huskies caused 12 turnovers in the game, with Stauffer and Kyne each causing three. Gormley caused two, while four others each caused one. Bloomsburg collected nine draw controls in the game, led by three from Kyne while six others each pulled down one. Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) made eight saves while taking the loss in the cage.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies earned their first PSAC win of the season on Tuesday (Mar. 20) when they defeated Shippensburg 17-16 in overtime. The two teams traded goals in the first 15 minutes leaving the game knotted at 3-3. The Raiders scored the first goal just 1:19 in, before Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) tied the game off an assist from Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side). Lindsey Coyle (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) would score next for BU unassisted, before Shippensburg would tie the game at two. After Shippensburg score their third goal, Jaskuta tied the game up with her seventh of the season unassisted. Shippensburg would go on to score the next three goals in a 34-second span to take a 6-3 lead, before Wozniak would score unassisted to get Bloomsburg back within two. Shippensburg would score again to get their lead back to three, before Jaskuta would score from Collins (7:16) and Kelleher would score unassisted (5:48) to get Bloomsburg back within 7-6. Shippensburg would make their lead 8-6 on a goal 18 seconds later, before Jaskuta from Kelleher (4:12) and Megan Smith (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Township) from Jaskuta (2:33) would tie the game at eight. The teams would go to the break deadlocked. The Raiders opened the scoring just 21 seconds into the second half, before Rusen scored her second of the game from Jaskuta just 23 seconds later. 21 seconds after Rusen's goal, Kelleher scored from Nocito to give the Huskies a 10-9 lead. Shippensburg would tie the game less than three minutes into the half, before Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) would score her fifth of the season unassisted less than four minutes in. The teams would trade goals as the clock ticked past the halfway point, leaving BU up 13-11. A Shippensburg goal was countered by a goal from Gormley, followed up by a woman-down unassisted marker by Kelleher. Two goals in a row from Shippensburg would tie the game at 13 with 6:54 to play, before Shippensburg scored a little over a minute later to take a 14-13 lead. Rusen (4:22) and Gormley (2:57) would respond with goals to put BU back on top 15-14, before Shippensburg would score twice in the final two minutes to take a 16-15 lead. Gormley's unassisted goal with 15 seconds left would send the game to overtime. In the first half of the overtime period, there were two shots from each team that were stonewalled by their respective goalkeepers. The Huskies would win the draw control and go on to control play in the second half of the overtime period, even forcing a Shippensburg turnover to keep the Raiders in the defensive end. After a Rusen shot was saved by Shippensburg goalie Kiki Brasher, Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) was on the doorstep to cash home her fourth of the season and get the win for the Huskies.
 
Bloomsburg out-shot Shippensburg 54-32 in the win, including a 7-2 advantage after regulation. Four Huskies tallied hat tricks in the win in Gormley, Rusen, Kelleher and Jaskuta, while Wozniak, Bergman, Dempsey, Smith and Coyle each scored once. Kelleher also dished out a game-high three assists in the win, while Jaskuta recorded two and three others assisted on one goal each. The Huskies edged the Raiders 38-19 in ground balls, led by nine from winning goalkeeper DiPasquale. Gormley collected five in the win, while Nocito picked up four. Bergman collected three while six others grabbed two and another five players each registered one. Bloomsburg collected 17 draw controls to Shippensburg's 19, with three Huskies each collecting three. Turner and Gormley each snatched two, while four others pulled down one in the win. BU caused 20 Shippensburg turnovers in the win, with Delaney Schappert (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) causing a team-high four. Three others caused three-apiece, Kelleher caused two and five others each caused one. DiPasquale (3-2) made nine saves in the win.
 
Millersville opened PSAC play with a 22-12 win ove Edinboro back on Mar. 17. Millersville scored the first seven goals of the game to build a 7-0 lead, before trading three goals with four goals from Edinboro to take a 10-4 lead to the locker room. The Marauders scored the first three goals of the second half, before trading their next goal with an Edinboro goal to build their lead to 14-5 with 18 minutes to play in the second. Edinboro would score the next three goals, before Millersville would interrupt the run with a goal followed up by another Edinboro goal. Leading 15-9 with 14:20 to play, Millersville scored the next three goals to extend their lead to 18-9 with 10 minutes to play. The two teams traded goals into the final six minutes, until Millersville scored three in a row to make it 22-11. Edinboro scored the final goal of the game with 46 seconds to play.
 
Millersville out-shot Edinboro 42-27 in the contest, including 32-20 in shots on goal. Callie Kavanaugh led the Marauders with six goals, while Sarah Leverentz and Sabrina Fusco each had four. Erin Fagan recorded a hat trick, while Sara Burney and Genevieve Speights each scored twice. Kristen Butzner scored the other goal for Millersville. Butzner also dished out a team-high five assists, while Kavanaugh and Burney each recorded two helpers. Millersville out-worked Edinboro for ground balls 39-25, with Shannon Davis registering a game-high eight. Butzner and Morgan Masiejczyk each collected five, while Burnery grabbed four. Leverentz and Fagan each scooped up three, while four others had two and another three players each had one. Millersville caused 14 turnovers on the afternoon, with Davis's three being a team-high. Fagan and Natalie Sukanick each caused two, while seven others each caused one. Millersville won 16 draw controls in the game, with Leverentz pulling down a game-high eight. Fagan had three, while Fusco and MaryCait Dorley each recorded two. Nathalie Sell grabbed one in the win. Davis got the win in cage, making eight saves.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies come into the game with the seventh-best scoring average of 15.20 goals per game, while allowing 12.66 goals per game. Kelleher leads the team and is ninth in the conference with 13 goals on the season, while also leading the team in assists (nine) and points (22). Her assist total is 10th in the PSAC, while her point total is ninth. The Huskies are fourth in the league in ground balls with 155, led by DiPasquale's 21. Her ground ball total is tied for third individually in the conference. Six other Huskies have collected at least 10 ground balls on the season. Bloomsburg leads the conference in caused turnovers with 81, led by 12 from Tiffany Diachynsky (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area). Her total is the fifth-highest in the conference, while Turner is sixth in the conference with 11 and Schappert is seventh with 10. BU has won 65 draw controls on the season, with Turner's 14 being a team-high. Smith is second on the team with 13 and is the only other Husky with at least 10 on the season. DiPasquale has played every minute between the pipes for the Huskies this season, making 50 saves and owning a .431 save percentage and a 12.70 goals against average (GAA).
 
SCOUTING MILLERSVILLE
The Marauders come into the matchup undefeated and ranked No. 20 in the most recent U.S. Lacrosse Magazine national poll. The Marauders lead the PSAC in scoring with an average of 20.60 goals per game, while giving up 6.40 goals per game which is the second-lowest average in the league. Fusco leads the team and the conference with 27 goals on the season and is one of four Marauders with double-digit goals. Kavanaugh is second on the team with 18, while Leverentz has 14 and Butzner has 10. Butzner's 28 assists lead the team and are second in the conference. Butzner's 38 points also lead the team and are second in the conference, while Fusco's 32 points are third in the league. Kavanaugh's 24 poins are eighth in the PSAC. Millersville is sixth in the conference in ground balls with 143, led by 22 from Leverentz. Her total is second in the PSAC, while five others have picked up at least 10 ground balls on the season. Millersville has caused 60 turnovers as a team this season, with Leverentz and Sukanick each having a team-high nine on the season. Millersville is also eighth in the conference in draw controls with 65, led by 24 from Leverentz. Her total is seventh in the conference, while two others have pulled down at least 10 on the season. Davis has logged the majority of the minutes in cage for Millersville this season, making five starts and owning a 5-0 record. Her 6.46 GAA is second in the PSAC, while she has made 31 saves this season and owns the eighth-best save percentage in the conference at .508.
