STORYLINE
The Huskies look to win their fourth in a row in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) when they host Edinboro on Saturday (Mar. 31).
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
This is the eighth all-time meeting between Bloomsburg and Edinboro. BU leads the all-time series 7-1.
 
LAST MEETING
Bloomsburg defeated Edinboro 11-10 last year on Mar. 25, 2017 at Steph Pettit Stadium. Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) scored the first goal unassisted almost nine minutes in, before Edinboro would score the next two goals to take a 2-1 lead at the halfway point of the first half. Erin Boulger (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) scored from Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) with 12:36 left in the half to tie the game, before Edinboro would score the next two goals with 10:02 and 6:24 left in the half respectively. Lindsey Coyle (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) scored an unassisted woman-down goal with 2:37 left to send the game to the half with Edinboro leading 4-3. Huskies continued their run by scoring the first four goals of the second half beginning with a goal from Syndey Collins 45 seconds into the half. Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) scored from Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) less than five minutes in, before Erin Boulger (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) scored 54 seconds later to put the Huskies up 6-4. Cailyn Gormley (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) finished the run with a goal 1:09 later to put BU up by three less than seven minutes into the second half. Edinboro scored 55 seconds later to stop the run, before Gormley would score again from Jaskuta with less than 19 minutes to play in the half to put Bloomsburg up by three. The Fighting Scots would score the next four goals, three goals in less than three minutes to take a 9-8 lead with 12 minutes and change left in the second half. Bloomsburg would go on a run of their own, scoring three goals in the final 10 minutes. Turner (9:11), Rusen (6:51) and Collins (1:36) put the Huskies back up 11-9 before an Edinboro goal in the final minute cut the game to a one-goal difference.
 
Bloomsburg out-shot Edinboro 36-21 in the win, including 28-17 in shots on goal. Four different Huskies scored twice in the win, while another three tallied one goal each. Gormley and Jaskuta each dished out two assists, while another three Huskies helped on one Bloomsburg goal each. Bloomsburg doubled up Edinboro on ground balls 26-13, led by a game-high four from Andie Turner (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown East). Four others collected three each in the win, while another three picked up two and four others scooped up one each. BU caused 16 of Edinboro's 26 turnovers on the afternoon, led by four from Kyne. Jaskuta caused three turnovers in the win, while another four players caused two each and Delaney Schappert (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) caused one. The Huskies won four total draw controls in the game, with four different players each grabbing one. Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) made seven saves in the win.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies defeated Seton Hill 9-8 back on Wednesday (Mar. 28) to win their third straight conference game. Seton Hill scored the first two goals to go up 2-0 less than nine minutes in. The Huskies got on the board just under 10 minutes into the game when Lindsey Coyle (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) scored her sixth of the season unassisted. Just 1:14 later, Cailyn Gormley (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) got on the board with her 16th marker of the year to tie the game at two. Approaching the halfway point of the first half, Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) netted her first of the game with 15:37 to play in the half before Seton Hill scored with 14:14 left in the half to tie the game yet again. Seton Hill would score the final goal of the first half with 13:27 to play to take a 4-3 lead to the half. Gormley began the second half by tying the game with her second goal less than four minutes into the frame, before Rusen gave the Huskies a brief one-goal lead with her 14th of the season less than eight minutes into the second. Seton Hill would tie the game just 16 seconds later, before the Huskies would score the next three goals over a six-minute span. Jaskuta scored her 13th of the season from Kelleher 9:25 into the half, before Megan Smith (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Township) got in on the scoring with her fifth of the season with 17:32 left in the half. Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) padded the Huskies lead further with her sixth of the season with 14:38 left from Kelleher, taking an 8-5 lead into the final 10 minutes. Seton Hill's next goal came with 6:39 left, before Gormley scored her hat trick goal with 3:32 to play. Seton Hill was able to get back within one with two goals in the final three minutes, but the Huskies would hold on for the road win.
 
Bloomsburg had 29 total shots to Seton Hill's 30, while BU led in shots on goal 23-15. Gormley led the Huskies offense with her third straight hat trick, her fourth of the season. Rusen, Kelleher, Coyle, Dempsey, Jaskuta and Smith all scored once in the win. Kelleher had the only two helpers in the win. Seton Hill held a slim 27-26 edge in ground balls, with Rusen leading the Huskies with a game-high five ground balls. Coyle, Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) and Allison Bardman (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) each grabbed three, while Schappert, Kelleher and DiPasquale each picked up two. Another six Huskies scooped up one ground ball each. Bloomsburg caused 12 of Seton Hill's 29 turnovers, with two each coming from Kelleher, Rusen and Nocito. Six other Huskies each caused one turnover in the win. Bloomsburg won eight draw controls to Seton Hill's 11, led by two from Gormley. Six others each snatched one in the win. DiPasquale (5-2) earned the win in between the pipes, making seven saves.
 
Edinboro fell to Gannon 15-2 back on Wednesday (Mar. 28) in PSAC action. Gannon scored the first seven goals over the first 10 minutes of the game, before Sophie DePalma got Edinboro on the board unassisted with 17:43 left in the half. Gannon scored the final three goals of the first half to take a 10-1 lead to the break. The Golden Knights scored the first three goals of the second half, before Stephanie Chido scored unassisted with 14:46 left for Edinboro's second goal of the game. Ganon would score two more goals in the game. Edinboro totaled 18 shots in the win, including 14 on goal. DePalma and Chido scored Edinboro's goals in the loss. Edinboro won the battle for ground balls 18-16, with a team-high four from both Katie Thomas and Candace McDole. Olivia Thomas grabbed two, while another eight players scooped up one each. The Fighting Scots caused seven of Gannon's 16 turnovers, with three players each causing two turnovers. Desiree Doucette also caused one turnover in the loss. Edinboro won six draw controls in the game, with Mary Uplinger and Sidney Dobbins each winning two and Hanna Fitzgerald and Chido each snatching one. McDole took the loss in the cage, making nine saves in 48:13. Kaitlyn Binotto played the final 11:47 between the pipes and made one save.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies are fifth in the conference in scoring at 14.43 goals per game, while allowing 12.06 goals per game. Gormley is the team's leading goal scorer with 18, while Kelleher is second on the team with 16. Two others have scored double-digit goals, while nine others have scored at least one on the season. Kelleher leads the team and is also tied for ninth in the conference in assists with 12, while 12 others have helped on Huskies goals this season. Kelleher's team-high 28 points (16 G, 12 A) are ninth in the conference, while Gormley (21 points, 18 G, three A) is the only other Husky with at least 20 points on the season. Five other Huskies have at least 10 points on the season and another seven have at contributed at least one point on the year. The Huskies are fourth in the conference in ground balls with 202 and are also one of only four teams with at least 200 ground balls on the year. DiPasquale's 28 ground balls lead the team and are tied for fifth individually in the conference, while eight others have scooped up at least 10 ground balls on the year. Bloomsburg leads the PSAC in caused turnovers with 108 and is the only school in the conference so far with at least 100 caused turnovers. Tiffany Diachynsky (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area)'s 15 lead the team and are fifth in the conference, while Turner is sixth with 14 and Schappert and Nocito are tied for seventh with 13 each. 14 others have caused turnovers this season for the Huskies. BU has won 87 draw controls on the season, led by 18 from Smith. Three others have at least 10 on the season, while 10 others have pulled down at least one on the year. DiPasquale has played every second between the pipes (432:51) for the Huskies, owning a 12.06 GAA, a .428 save percentage and 65 savesm the sixth-highest total in the conference.
 
SCOUTING EDINBORO
Edinboro scores 9.50 goals per game, while allowing 12.63 goals per game on the season. Anna Leva and DePalma share the team lead and are tied for sixth in the PSAC in goals with 20. Lindsey Brinkel is the only other Fighting Scot with double-digit goals on the season with 13, while eight others have scored at least once on the season. Leva is also the team's leader and only Fighting Scot in double digits with 10 assists. Eight others have helped on goals on the season. Leva's 30 points (20 G, 10 A) lead the team and are ninth in the conference, while DePalma (24 points, 20 G, four A) and Brinkel (16 points, 13 G, three A) are the other Fighting Scots with at least 10 points on the season. Edinboro is eighth in the conference in ground balls with 173, led by McDole with 30. Her total is tied for second in the conference, while another six Fighting Scots have collected at least 10 ground balls on the season. Edinboro has caused 58 turnovers on the season, with three different players sharing the team lead with eight apiece. The Fighting Scots have won 86 draw controls on the season, with Dobbins and Leva leading the team with 19. Three others have won at least 10 draw controls on the season. McDole is the main goalkeeper for Edinboro, playing in all eight games making eight starts. She owns a 12.88 GAA, a .554 save percentage and has made a conference-best 113 saves.
