GAME PREVIEW: Huskies Wrap up Regular Season with Crucial Conference Game at Gannon on Saturday

STORYLINE
The Huskies look to lock up a berth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament in their final game of the regular season at Gannon on Saturday (Apr. 28). The Huskies potentially can lock up the sixth and final seed in the tournament with a win. 
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be the 18thall-time meeting between Bloomsburg and Gannon. Gannon holds a slim 9-8 lead in the series. 
 
LAST MEETING
BU won last year's meeting 21-15 back on Apr. 15, 2017. Bloomsburg scored the first three goals in the first five and a half minutes, before Gannon scored two goals 20 seconds apart. The Huskies scored again just shy of eight minutes in and then again with 10 and a half minutes to play in the first half, before Gannon found the back of the net with six and a half minutes to play in the first half. The Huskies scored again with just over four minutes to play in the half, before the clock ticked down inside the final three minutes. With 2:45 to play in the half, Gannon netted their first woman-up goal of the game before Bloomsburg responded just 12 seconds later. The Golden Knights would score the final goal of the half with just one second left to send the teams to the break with BU leading 7-5. Gannon would score the first three goals of the second half to take an 8-7 lead two and a half minutes in, before BU would tie the game less than a minute later. After a Gannon goal just shy of the four-minute mark, Bloomsburg would score the next five goals over a five-minute span to take a 13-9 lead. After another Gannon goal with 14 minutes to pay broke up the run, the Huskies score again just 29 seconds later to re-gain their four-goal lead. Back-to-back Golden Knight goals cut the lead to two, before Bloomsburg scored the next three goals in less than three minutes. Gannon would score with just over six minutes left in the half to get within four, before the Huskies would score four more goals in less than three minutes. Gannon would score the last two goals of the game, coming with 2:38 and then 1:22 remaining in the second half. 
 
Bloomsburg held a slim 32-31 edge in shots, while both teams put 21 shots on goal. Brigid Kyne (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) led the Huskies with a game-high six goals, while Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) found the back of the net t five times. Sydney Collins (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) and Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) each tallied a hat trick in the win, while four other Huskies scored once in the game. Erin Boulger (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) and Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) each dished out two assists in the game, while three others helped on one goal each. Bloomsburg out-worked Gannon for ground balls 18-11, with Kyne and Kate Shea (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) each collecting a team-high three. Three other Huskies picked up two each in the game, while six others each registered one. Bloomsburg caused four of Gannon's 20 turnovers, with Julia Stauffer (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) causing two and Shea and Danielle Ward (Albrightsville, Pa./Vernon Township) each forcing one. Bloomsburg edged Gannon in draw controls 19-18, led by nine from Kyne. Turner won five in the game, while Ward recorded two and three others won one each. DiPasquale made 11 saves between the pipes in the win. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies suffered a tough 17-5 loss to No. 18 East Stroudsburg at home back on Wednesday (Apr. 25). The 18th-ranked Warriors scored the first four goals in the first seven minutes of the game, before Turner got the Huskies on the board with her 12th of the season less than a minute later. As the clock passed the first 10 minutes of the first half, Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) netted her 28th of the season from Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) to get the Huskies within 4-2. That is the closest the Huskies would get, as the Warriors scored the next five goals over an eight-minute span. Kelleher netted her 26th of the season unassisted with 9:38 to play in the first half, before Megan Smith (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Township) scored her 12th of the season unassisted with just over six minutes to play in the first. The Warriors would score three more goals in the first half to take a 12-4 lead to the break. The Warriors would continue their run in the second half, scoring the first four goals over the first 12 and a half minutes. Bloomsburg's final goal came with 16 and a half minutes to play off the stick of Kelleher assisted by Rusen. ESU scored their goal of the game with 10 and a half minutes to play. 
 
Bloomsburg registered 25 shots in the game, including 17 on goal. Kelleher led the Huskies with two goals, while Turner, Jaskuta and Smith each scored once. Kelleher and Rusen each dished out helpers in the game for BU. East Stroudsburg held a slim 32-30 edge in ground balls, with Cailyn Gormley (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) collecting a team-high six for Bloomsburg. DiPasquale picked up four, along with three others grabbing three each. Four other Huskies picked up two each, while another three players each registered one ground ball. Bloomsburg caused 15 of ESU's 26 turnovers, with five Huskies each forcing two turnovers and another five each causing one turnover. East Stroudsburg edged Bloomsburg in draw controls 13-11, with Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley)'s three being a team-high for BU. Three other Huskies recorded two draw controls apiece, while Smith and Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) each snagged one. DiPasquale (10-6) took the loss in the cage, making 10 saves.
 
Gannon fell to Slippery Rock on the road 16-10 in PSAC action on Wednesday (Apr. 25). Gannon scored the first goal less than two minutes in off the stick of Leilani King, before Slippery Rock would score the next three goals. Just over 10 minutes in, Jessica Hudak scored the second goal of the game for Gannon to get the Golden Knights within 3-2. As the clock passed the halfway point of the first half, Slippery Rock scored the next two goals before Gannon would respond with two goals in just nine seconds. Erin Rotondo scored both goals (10:37 and 10:28) with an assist from Kayla Shields on the first one. Slippery Rock would score the next two goals and the final two goals of the first half, the first coming with 7:24 left in the half and the second with 2:01 left in the half. Rotondo scored the first goal of the second half just 33 seconds in to get Gannon back within two, before The Rock would score the next five goals over seven minutes. King would score unassisted with 16:51 left in the half to get Gannon back with six, before Slippery Rock padded their lead with 13:15 to play. The Golden Knights would score three straight goals in two minutes to get back within 13-9, with the first coming from Rotondo with 11:45 left. King would score 1:34 later, before Rotondo scored again 23 seconds later to get Gannon back within four. The Rock would score their last three goals over five and a half minutes to stretch their lead to 16-9, before Maddie Krock scored Gannon's final goal assisted by Alexa Bower with 50 seconds left. 
 
Gannon registered 25 shots in the contest, including 23 on goal. Rotondo's five goals were a team-high, while King recorded a hat trick and Hudak and Krock each scored once. Shields and Bower each assisted on one goal in the game for Gannon. Slippery Rock edged Gannon in ground balls 43-37, with 13 from King being a game-high. Rotondo and Erin Renwick each picked up five, while Bower and Hudak each collected four. Shields registered three, while three other Golden Knights each snagged one. Gannon caused 19 of Slippery Rock's 38 turnovers, led by six from King while Rotondo and Bower each forced four turnovers. Shields and Jayme Kostial each caused two turnovers, while Hannah Sinsebox caused one. Each team won 14 draw controls, led by a game-high six from King. Rotondo pulled down five, while Bower recorded two and Hudak grabbed one. Renwick made 15 saves in the loss between the pipes. 
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies are the seventh-best scoring team in the conference with an average of 12.56 goals per game, while giving up 12.64 goals per game. Rusen's 34 goals lead the team, while Gormley is second on the team with 31. Six other Huskies have scored at least 10 goals on the season, while another five have scored at least one goal on the season. Kelleher's 22 assists lead the team and are 10thin the conference, while four other Huskies have helped on at least 10 goals on the season. Nine other Huskies have helped on at least one goal on the season. Kelleher's 49 points (27 G, 22 A) lead the team, while 11 other Huskies have recorded at least 10 points on the season. The Huskies are second in the conference in ground balls with 468, while being one of six teams with at least 400 ground balls. Rotondo's 43 goals lead the team and are ninth in the conference, while King's 36 goals are second on the team and 10thin the conference. Nine other Golden Knights have scored at least one goal on the season. King's 18 assists lead the team and are also 10thin the conference, while 11 others have helped on at least one goal on the season. King's 54 points (36 G, 18 A) lead the team and are 10thin the conference, while Rotondo's 48 points (43 G, five A) are second on the team and 10 others have at least one point on the season. Gannon has collected 262 ground balls on the season, led by 60 from King which is the fifth-highest total in the conference. Eight other Golden Knights have scooped up at least 10 ground balls on the season, while another seven players have registered at least one. Gannon has caused 120 turnovers on the season, led by King with 27 total. Her total is 10thin the conference.
