STORYLINE
The Huskies look to get back in the win column on Thursday (Apr. 5) when they travel to Shepherd.

ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be the first all-time meeting between Bloomsburg and Shepherd.

LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies fell to Kutztown 17-10 to snap their four-game Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) winning streak on Tuesday (Apr. 3). The Huskies scored four of the first five goals and started out to a 4-1 lead early on. Tracy Rusen (Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) began the scoring with her 19th of the season from Cailyn Gormley (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) just 22 seconds in, before Gormley netted a free position goal for her 20th less than three minutes in to double BU's lead. Kutztown would score their first goal less than four minutes in before the Huskies would respond. Two Bloomsburg goals just 1:03 apart stretched Bloomsburg's lead to 4-1, with Sydney Collins (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) scoring her sixth of the year (26:25) on a free position attempt and Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) scoring her 16th of the year (25:22) from Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side). From there, Kutztown would score the next four goals over 11 minutes to take their first lead of the half at 5-4. Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) would tie the game at five with her seventh of the season on a free position attempt with 10:17 to play in the half, before Kutztown would score 58 seconds later to re-gain the lead at 6-5. The first half would tick down into the final five and a half minutes before Jaskuta's 17th of the year from Coyle tied the game at six. Kutztown would score again with four minutes left, but their one-goal lead would again be short-lived. Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) scored her fifth of the season assisted by Rusen to knot the game at seven just 50 seconds later. As the clock ticked down inside a minute and a half to play, Rusen scored from Kelleher with 1:12 left to put the Huskies up 8-7.  The final goals for each team were scored in the final 30 seconds, with Kelleher scoring unassisted with 24 seconds left and a Kutztown goal with six seconds left. Bloomsburg took a 9-8 lead to the break.

The second half would prove to be a very different story for the Huskies, as they were out-scored 9-1 and held without a goal for the first 13:59 of the period. Kutztown scored the first seven goals of the half, with six of them coming in the first 10 minutes of the frame. Kutztown would stretch their lead to six with 16 minutes to play in the half, before Rusen finally ended the drought with a goal from Bergman at 16:01. Kutztown would score two more goals on their way to the win.

Bloomsburg totaled 26 shots to Kutztown's 40 in the contest, including 17 shots on goal to KU's 31. Rusen led the Huskies with a hat trick, her second in a row and sixth of the season. Jaskuta also scored twice in the win, along with one goal each from five others. Kelleher registered two assists on the night, while four others helped on one Bloomsburg goal each. BU collected 25 ground balls to KU's 32, led by a game-high seven from Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus). Collins and Erin Boulger (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) each recorded three in the game, while four others scooped up two each and another four Huskies snagged one apiece. Bloomsburg caused 18 of Kutztown's 24 turnovers, led by a game-high four from Delaney Schappert (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor). Tiffany Diachynsky (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) caused three turnovers, while Boulger and Erika Biehl (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) each forced two and another seven players each caused one. Bloomsburg was edged 15-14 in draw controls in the contest, with Bergman leading the team with a game-high five. Taylor Turner (Corning, N.Y./Corning West) grabbed three while Boulger and Gormley each recorded two and Megan Smith (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Township) and Dempsey each snatched one. DiPasquale (6-3) made 14 saves in the loss between the pipes, just one stop shy of her single-game season and career-high.

Shepherd defeated Coker 16-8 in their last action back on Mar. 16. Shepherd scored the first three goals of the game in the first eight minutes, beginning with Regan Brown scoring unassisted just 1:16 in. Brown assisted on Sarah Wendt's goal just 12 seconds later, before Elishia Davis put the Rams up 3-0. Coker scored their first goal of the half with 14 and a half minutes to play in the first, before Shepherd would score the next five goals in less than five minutes. Emily Brown scored unassisted (11:47), before Lillian Funke followed it up with an unassisted goal of her own (10:04). Funke would score her second in a row assisted by Wednt 35 seconds later (9:29), before Davis scored unassisted (7:23) to stretch the Rams lead to 7-1. Funke rounded out the run with another unassisted marker 22 seconds later (7:01) to put Shepherd up 8-1. Coker scored their second goal of the half and the final goal of the half with 6:06 left in the period. Shepherd led 8-2 at the break.

Shepherd started the second half in similar fashion to the first, scoring the first four goals in a span of 3:19. Funke (26:44) and Davis unassisted (26:18) started the run followed by another goal from Davis assisted by Megan Dusci (25:25) and a woman-up goal by Wendt (23:25) to stretch their lead to 12-2. Coker responded with two goals in less than two minutes to make it 12-4, before Funke scored unassisted with 18 minutes left to make it 13-4. After another Coker goal with 15 and a half minutes left, Davis scored unassisted followed by a goal from Funke assisted by Brown just 28 seconds apart to make it 15-5 with 14 and a half minutes left. Coker would score three goals in the final 10 minutes, before Funke netted a woman-down goal unassisted with a minute left.

Shepherd out-shot Coker 34-23 on the afternoon. Funke led all scorers with a game-high seven goals, while Davis scored five times and Wendt scored twice. Regan Brown and Emily Brown also each scored once in the win. Regan Brown assisted on two goals, while Wendt and Dusci each assisted on one goal in the win. Shepherd collected 17 ground balls to Coker's 20, led by Davis with four. Wendt and Casey Hickman each picked up three, Dusci and Jordan Sauro each registered two and three others scooped up one each. Shepherd caused 11 of Coker's 24 turnovers in the game, led by Anna Munford with three. Three others each caused two, while Hickman and Funke each registered one. Shepherd won 13 draw controls to Coker's 14, with Davis grabbing a team-high six. Funke grabbed four and Wendt snatched three in the win. Casey Hickman made 12 saves between the pipes in the win.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies are fifth in the PSAC in scoring with an average of 13.89 goals per game, while allowing 12.16 goals per game. Rusen is the team's goal leader with 21 while Gormley is second on the team with 20. Kelleher and Jaskuta are tied for third with 17 goals each, while nine others have scored at least one goal on the year. Rusen's 21 goals is ranked ninth individually in the conference. Kelleher leads the team and is seventh individually in the conference. Collins is second on the team with 10 helpers, while 11 others have helped on Bloomsburg goals so far this season. Kelleher is the team's point leader with 35 (17 G, 18 A), and her total is ranked ninth individually in the conference. Eight others have at least 10 points on the season, while another five Huskies have at least one. Bloomsburg is second in the league with 264 ground balls, led by DiPasquale's 33 which is ranked fourth in the PSAC. 11 others have scooped up at least 10 ground balls on the season. The Huskies also lead the conference in caused turnovers with 149, with Diachynsky's 22 being a team-high and tied for fourth in the conference. Schappert's 20 caused turnovers are second on the team and tied for sixth in the PSAC, while Turner is third on the team and eighth in the conference with 19 caused turnovers. 16 others have caused at least one turnover on the season for BU. Bloomsburg is also eighth in the conference in draw controls with 118, led by Turner whose 23 are 10th in the league. Smith and Bergman are tied for second on the team with 20, while Gormley has collected 14. 10 others have pulled down at least one draw control on the season. DiPasquale has played all 552:51 in the cage for the Huskies, owning a 12.16 goals against average (GAA) and a .440 save percentage. She has totaled 88 saves which is the fifth-highest total in the conference.

SCOUTING SHEPHERD
Shepherd leads the Mountain East Conference (MEC) in scoring averaging 15.50 goals per game, while also allowing the fewest goals per game in the conference at 9.92. Funke leads the team and is tied for second in goals with 28, while Davis (16), Wendt (15) and Regan Brown (14) being the others to score at least 10 goals on the season. Five other Rams have scored goals on the season. Regan Brown leads the team in assists with 11, while seven others have recorded assists on the season. Funke is the team's point leader with 34 (28 G, six A) and her total is tied for second in the MEC. Regan Brown (25 points, 14 G, 11 A), Wendt (19 points, 15 G, four A) and Davis (17 points, 16 G, one A) are the other Rams with at least 10 points on the year, while another five have recorded  at least one point on the season. Shepherd is third in the conference in ground balls with 178, led by Hickman whose 28 total are tied for second in the conference. Davis is second on the team and fifth in the conference with 20. Seven other Rams have collected at least 10 ground balls on the season. Shepherd is fourth in the conference with 59 caused turnovers, led by 10 from Funke which is seventh individually in the conference. 12 others have caused at least one turnover on the season. Shepherd is the conference leader in draw controls with 86, with Funke's team-high 39 being third in the league. Wendt is also seventh in the MEC with 25, while four others have won draw controls on the season. Hickman has played all 368:59 between the pipes for Shepherd, while owning the second-lowest GAA in the conference (9.92). Her .487 save percentage leads the league, while her 58 total saves is the fourth-highest total in the MEC.

The Huskies will go on the road for the second straight game when they travel to Philadelphia to take on Jefferson on Sunday (Apr. 8) for a 1:00 p.m. start. The game is being made up from a postponement back on Mar. 3.
