STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team are looking to extend their seven-game win streak to eight as they take on the undefeated Millersville Marauders in a pivotal Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division showdown.  On Wednesday, the Huskies knocked off #8 West Chester in an impressive 2-0 victory.  The Huskies enter the match against Millersville with a 9-1 overall record and 7-1 divisional record in the PSAC East, while their foes come into the weekend with a 10-0 overall record and 8-0 divisional record.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Huskies lead the all-time series against the Marauders, 22-5-5. Millersville came away victorious in the previous meeting against the Huskies in 2018. The Marauders took a quick 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of the match. The Huskies were unable to complete the comeback and eventually lost the match 2-1. Bloomsburg's last victory over the Marauders was in 2017 when the Huskies defeated Millersville 3-0.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies have won seven straight and enter with nine wins in their first 10 matches of the season. Bloomsburg's last game came on Wednesday, October 9, when the Huskies knocked off #8 West Chester University 2-0, at Steph Pettit Stadium. Junior Natalie Holmes (Laurel, Md./Archbishop Spalding) curled in a stunning goal from a corner kick early in the first half to give the Huskies the lead. Later in the half, Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) slotted a goal from the penalty spot to extend Bloomsburg's lead to 2-0. The Huskies defense was able to hold West Chester to eight shots, two on target, for the match. Bloomsburg has outscored its opponents by a 24-4 margin so far this year and have goals from nine different players. Hoelke  leads the team in scoring with five goals and four assists for 12 points on the year. Nicole Varano (Mt. Carmel, Pa./Mt. Carmel) is second in scoring with five goals for 10 points which puts her in a tie for eighth in the conference in goals. Natalie Holmes (Laurel, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and Maggie McDonald (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) are third on the team with three goals on the season.  Jamie Marsico (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) each has registered two goals as well for Bloomsburg. In goal, Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) has played all but 31 minutes and is currently 9-1. She leads the PSAC in goals against average (0.305) and save percentage (.903). Hawkins also ranks second in the conference in shutouts (6) and has 25 for her collegiate career as she trails only Amy Linn (1992-95), who finished with 27, and Frances Nicoletti (2008-11), who totaled 26, on the school's all-time list.

SCOUTING MILLERSVILLE
Millersville enters the contest undefeated on the year with a 10-0 record and an 8-0 mark against divisional opponents. The Marauders last game came on Wednesday where they defeated East Stroudsburg by a score of 1-0. Millersville outshot the Warriors 17-13, while Morgan Winchock scored the lone goal in the victory. Goalkeeper Reagan Kolinski recorded seven saves in the win. Michelle Belcher leads the team in scoring with six goals along with one assist for a total of 13 points. Kay Liebl has also tallied five goals and three assists for 13 points while Talia Grynkewicz has notched four goals for eight points on the year. Becher's six goals has her ranked sixth in the PSAC in scoring. Kolinski has played 881:31 in goal and is 10-0 with a 0.31 goals against average.

UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will continue conference play when the Huskies return home to face Shippensburg on Wednesday, October 16, for a 7:00 p.m. match and Mansfield on Saturday, October 19, for a 4:30 p.m. match at Steph Pettit Stadium. The Red Raiders are 5-6 and 3-6 in PSAC East divisional play, while Mansfield are 1-9 on the season and 1-7 in divisional play.
