ALL-TIME SERIES
• Michigan State earned a 31-12 victory in the only meeting against Bloomsburg back on November 26, 2016, at the Nelson Field House. In the only meeting against Northern Illinois, Bloomsburg dropped a 23-12 decision on November 13, 2016.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
• The Huskies have dropped two straight to fall to 2-6 overall on the season. In their most recent action last Sunday, Bloomsburg suffered a 27-13 loss at Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) rival, Cleveland State. Junior Willy Girard (Williamstown, Pa/Williams Valley) earned his first technical fall victory of the season at 125 pounds but then the Vikings rattled off five consecutive wins to take control of the match. Redshirt sophomore Anthony Vetrano (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) won by fall at 174 and redshirt junior Trevor Allard (Mexico, N.Y./Mexico) followed with his team-leading sixth major decision of the year to cut into the lead. Cleveland State, however, won the final two matches to earn the victory.

• Bloomsburg's signature win thus far came on January 11, when the Huskies defeated Edinboro 21-19 at the Nelson Field House. The victory snapped a five-match losing skid against the Fighting Scots as Bloomsburg picked up its first victory against its EWL rival since January 25, 2013, when it earned a 19-18 home win. Pins from Girard and redshirt junior Grant Bond (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs), and a decision victory for junior Lewis Williams (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia), vaulted the Huskies to an early lead in the match, while Newberry and Allard locked up the Bloomsburg victory with wins at 157 and 184 pounds, respectively.

• Allard is ranked No. 28 in the initial NCAA Division I Wrestling Coaches' Panel, which was released on January 24. The redshirt junior leads the team with a 19-9 overall record and a team-high six major decisions. He has won 15 of his last 18 matches after starting the year with a 4-6 mark. He completed 2018 on a high note as well, placing seventh at the 56th annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships on December 29 and 30. Allard is the first Bloomsburg wrestler to be nationally ranked since the 2014 season.

• Girard sports a record of 15-8 on the season which includes three consecutive wins. Bond is 12-5 and has notched a team-high four pins. Newberry is 11-10 overall this season with six wins in his last eight matches. Four grapplers have notched eight wins on the season - Williams, Vetrano, junior Kyle Murphy (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan), and junior Bruce Graeber (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy).

SCOUTING MICHIGAN STATE
- Michigan State enters with a 5-6 overall record and a 2-4 mark in the Big Ten. The Spartans opened the year with four consecutive wins but then dropped six straight before a 27-12 win over Maryland in their last time out on January 27. Of their six straight losses, five came against nationally-ranked opponents including #3 Ohio State (37-4) and #6 Michigan (30-10).

• The Spartans feature three nationally-ranked wrestlers in sophomore Rayvon Foley at 125 pounds, redshirt freshman Cameron Caffey at 184 pounds, and redshirt sophomore Drew Hughes at 174 pounds. Foley is seventh in the initial NCAA Division I Wrestling Coaches' Panel and sports a 24-1 overall record on the season. Caffey is 21-3 on the year and ranked 17th in the coaches' panel while Hughes is 19-8 and ranked 32nd in the same poll.

SCOUTING NORTHERN ILLINOIS
- Northern Illinois is 5-8 on the year with a 1-4 mark in the MAC. After winning three straight to open the month of January, the Huskies have dropped two straight against Missouri (40-6) on January 25 and Ohio University (21-18) on January 27.

• Brit Wilson leads the way for the Huskies as he is the lone ranked grappler on the squad. The redshirt freshman is a team-best 18-4 on the season at 174 pounds and is ranked 16th in the country in the weight class. Other names to watch for Northern Illinois are Alijah Jeffery, who sports a 13-7 record at 133 pounds, and Kenny Moore, who owns a 14-7 mark at 165 pounds.
