STORYLINE
• The Bloomsburg University wrestling team closes out the regular season this weekend with a trio of matches at the Nelson Field House. The Huskies will host a tri-meet with Appalachian State and Columbia on Saturday, before hosting Bucknell on Sunday afternoon. Bloomsburg has dropped its last two matches to Rider and Ohio University, but the Huskies are looking for a strong weekend and momentum heading into the EWL Championships on March 9.
• Prior to the start of Sunday's match vs. the Bison, the Huskies will honor redshirt junior
Grant Bond (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) for his excellent career at Bloomsburg University. Bond has been out of the lineup since February 10 with an injury, but has been one of the key pieces of the Huskies lineup this season, posting a 13-8 overall record and a team-high four pins.

ALL-TIME SERIES
• Bloomsburg is 9-1-1 all-time against Appalachian State, with the Mountaineers earning their first win in the series a season ago.
Willy Girard (Williamstown, Pa/Williams Valley) was just one of two Huskies to claim a victory in the 28-7 loss. The Bloomsburg and Columbia programs have met just once before, a 28-17 Lions win back on January 14, 2017. The Huskies have also fared well against Bucknell historically, holding a 13-3-1 all-time record against the Bison. Bloomsburg defeated Bucknell 22-20 to close out the 2018 regular season, with Girard and
Bruce Graeber (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) among those earning wins for the Huskies.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Huskies are hoping to bounce back from a 34-9 loss to visiting Ohio University last Friday night. Girard kicked off the night in exciting fashion with a pinfall victory at 125 lbs. over Ohio's Trevor Giallombardo. It was Girard's third pin of the season, which is good for second on the team. Graeber notched the Huskies only other victory on the evening, upsetting Zack Parker 2-1 in the heavyweight bout. Parker entered the night ranked 28th in the country at 285 pounds, but Graeber was able to earn his fourth straight win and improve to 12-13 on the season.
THE HUSKIES AT A GLANCE
• Redshirt junior
Trevor Allard (Mexico, N.Y./Mexico) leads the Huskies with a 21-11 overall record while competing at 184 pounds. Earlier this season, Allard became the first Bloomsburg wrestler to be nationally ranked since 2014. He leads the Huskies with seven major decisions and eight total bonus point victories, and has won 17 of his last 22 matches.
• Girard is 17-11 overall this season, and his six bonus point wins are tied for second on the team.
Nate Newberry (Biglerville, Pa./Biglerville) is 14-12 on the season, while Bond is 13-8 and the leads the team in pins with 4. Graeber is 12-13 overall this season, but has been excellent recently, notching four straight wins.
SCOUTING APPALACHIAN STATE
• The Mountaineers enter Saturday's match with a record of 8-6 overall, and have clinched at least a share of the Southern Conference regular season championship for the fourth consecutive season with a 5-1 conference record.
• Appalachian State defeated The Citadel 39-8 in its regular season home finale last Sunday. The Mountaineers won eight of the 10 matches, with Cary Miller (285) and De'Andre Swinson-Barr (125 pounds) closing the dual with pins. Codi Russell (133), Irvin Enriquez (141), Thomas Flitz (174) and Alan Clothier (184) earned five points apiece with technical falls, while Matt Zovistoski (149) posted a 14-5 major decision. Michael Elliott (165) was also victorious.
• Appalachian State boasts seven nationally-ranked wrestlers in the lineup, including #13 Randall Diabe, who is 22-5 on the season and has a team-high seven major decisions. Zovistoski is ranked 27th and is 22-12 at 149 lbs., while Cary Miller is ranked 31st has a team-high eight pinfall victories this season. #27 Codi Russell (133), #26 Irvin Enriquez (141), #33 Michael Elliott (165), and #27 Alan Clothier (184) are also ranked for the Mountaineers.
SCOUTING COLUMBIA
• Columbia is led by Dan Reed and Laurence Kosoy. Reed is 21-6 on the season at 157 lbs., while Kosoy sports a 21-9 record. Max Elling has won 17 matches at 174 lbs., and Danny Fongaro is 15-10 on the year. Cole Corrigan is 12-10 this season, and has won his last six matches.
• The Lions are searching a ninth dual win for the first time since the 1980-81 season after splitting a pair of matches with Harvard and Brown this past weekend. Columbia was dominant in a 32-3 victory over Harvard, but were edged in the final bout by Brown, 19-18. Joe Manchio registered the only pinfall victory against Harvard at 125 lbs., while Matt Kazimir notched a pinfall win against Brown. Kazimir, Corrigan, and Elling were all 2-0 on the day for the Lions.
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
• Bucknell enters Sunday's match with a record of 6-10 (4-6 EIWA) after a 25-17 loss to Binghamton last weekend. Zach Hartman (157) earned his ninth pinfall victory of the season, while Drew Phipps notched his 20th win at 197 lbs.
• Hartman is ranked 11th in the nation by Intermat,The Open Mat and FloWrestling. He leads the team in overall victories with 22, and pins with 9. Phipps is 20-7 on the season, and is riding a 10-match winning streak into the weekend. The junior has a team-high 5 major decisions, and has two technical falls.
• Hartman (22-5), Phipps (20-7) and Jacob Ferreira (15-11) have all reached the 15-win plateau. Jakob Campbell is 14-8 on the season at 125 lbs, while Frankie Guida Jr. (174) is 14-11. Matthew Kolonia (149) has notched 13 wins this year.
LOOKING AHEAD
• The Huskies will travel to George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, for the EWL Championships on Saturday, March 9. The Tournament is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
