THE STORY
• The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team opens Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play this Saturday against the 15th-ranked Mercyhurst Lakers. The Huskies are 3-1 on the young campaign, but are hoping to get back on track after suffering a 17-7 loss to Queens University of Charlotte Wednesday. Mercyhurst is 3-1 on the season as well, and the Lakers are also eyeing a bounce back victory after a 16-8 loss to top-ranked Le Moyne this week.

THE HISTORY: BLOOMSBURG vs. MERCYHURST
• Bloomsburg trails the all-time series with Mercyhurst 14-10, including a 16-7 loss to the Lakers in the quarterfinals of the 2018 PSAC Tournament. Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) notched a pair of goals for the Huskies in the loss, while Emma Hubert tallied two goals for Mercyhurst. The Lakers have won the last seven matchups between the teams dating back to the 2012 PSAC Championship Game, when Bloomsburg defeated Mercyhurst 15-9 to win its last conference title.

THE HUSKIES AT A GLANCE
• Freshman Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) tied a career-high with two goals, but the Huskies suffered their first defeat of the 2019 season, falling 17-7 to 18th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte Wednesday afternoon. Kara Blanchard paced the Royals offensively with four goals and an assist, while Rachel Perrett finished with three goals and an assist. Allison Bardman (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) and Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) each had a goal and an assist for the Huskies. Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) got the nod in the cage for Bloomsburg and recorded 14 saves in the loss.

• Kelleher has stuffed the stat sheet to start the season for Bloomsburg, leading the team in points (19), assists (9), and ranking second in goals (10). Jaskuta leads the team with 11 goals, while Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) has six goals, two assists, and a team-high 16 draw controls. Dempsey has been tremendous for the Huskies early on, notching six goals, three assists, nine ground balls, and four caused turnovers. DiPasquale is 2-1 with a .565 save percentage and a 10.0 Goals against average (GAA). DiPasquale also leads the PSAC in saves per game (13.0).

• Bloomsburg's defense has been stifling early in the season, leading the PSAC In caused turnovers (17.75) and ground balls (28.0) per game. Sophomore Tiffany Diachynsky (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) is tied for first in the PSAC with 2.50 caused turnovers per game, and sophomore Erika Biehl (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) has nine caused turnovers on the year. DiPasquale leads the conference in ground balls per game with 4.67, while Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) has 12 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.

SCOUTING THE LAKERS
• 15th-ranked Mercyhurst enters Saturday's contest at 3-1 on the season, with the Lakers only defeat coming at the hands of defending National Champion and currently top-ranked Le Moyne College this week. Mercyhurst was picked to finish third in the PSAC this season after advancing to the semifinals of the conference tournament with a quarterfinals win over Bloomsburg a season ago.

• Hubert tallied three goals and an assist in the loss to Le Moyne Wednesday, while Angelina Simon and Julia Rescott added two goals each. Lacey Netti chipped in a goal and an assist, and Jenna Hagen recorded an assist for the Lakers. Raelyn Tiberio got the start in goal for Mercyhurst, and accumulated 14 saves in the loss. The Dolphins were powered by a trio of hat tricks from Nicole Delany, Bryanna Fazio, and Erin McMullen.

• Hubert and Netti have powered the Lakers offense this season, leading the team in points with 22 apiece. Netti has eight goals and a PSAC-leading 14 assists, while Hubert leads the conference in goals scored with 21. Kira Kolb leads the team in draw controls (20) ground balls (14), and caused turnovers. Tiberio has started all four games for the Lakers, compiling 25 saves and an 8.00 GAA.

LOOKING AHEAD
• The Huskies wrap up a three-game road trip next Tuesday, March 19, at Shippensburg. Bloomsburg will return home next Saturday, March 23, to host Millersville. First draw with the Raiders is slated for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
