THE STORY
• The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team returns home to battle Kutztown University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) clash this Tuesday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium. The Huskies are 7-3 overall, and 3-2 in the PSAC after snapping a two-game losing skid with a 10-7 win at Edinboro Saturday. The Golden Bears are 4-4 overall, and 3-2 in the conference after three consecutive PSAC wins over Slippery Rock, Shippensburg, and Gannon.
THE HISTORY: BLOOMSBURG vs. KUTZTOWN
• The Huskies are 15-10-1 all-time against Kutztown, but the Golden Bears hold the advantage recently, winning two of the last three meetings between the teams. Kutztown downed Bloomsburg 17-10 at home a season ago thanks to six goals and two assists from then-senior Sarah Gabrielle. Makayla Bowman added two goals and three assists for the Golden Bears, while
Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) had a goal and two assists for Bloomsburg in the loss. The Huskies are 3-2 against Kutztown in the teams' last five meetings, with Bloomsburg's last win in the series coming at home back on April 26, 2017.
THE HUSKIES AT A GLANCE

Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) tied a career-high with four goals as the Huskies downed Edinboro 10-7 in PSAC action Saturday afternoon. Bloomsburg snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 7-3 overall, 3-2 in the PSAC, with the win.
Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) poured in two goals and notched a team-high six draw controls in the win, while
Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts),
Kirsten Wozniak (Oradell, N.J./River Dell Regional),
Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area), and Kelleher all added goals in the win. Huskies netminder
Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) recorded eight saves in the complete game victory.
• Jaskuta leads Bloomsburg in points (31) and goals scored (23) on the season, and is just three goals away from reaching the 100-goal milestone for her career. Kelleher, who returned to action Saturday after missing the previous four games with an injury, ranks third in the PSAC in points per game with 4.67. The redshirt sophomore has 28 points on the year, including 18 goals and a team-high 10 assists. Bergman has 17 goals, three assists, and a team-high 28 draw controls, while Dempsey has stuffed the stat sheet with 15 goals, five assists, 28 draw controls, 10 caused turnovers, and 12 ground balls. Kilgallon has 15 points on nine goals and six assists, and Wozniak has five goals and six assists.
• The Bloomsburg defense has been stifling in the first half of the season, leading the PSAC in caused turnovers (16.20) and ground balls (27.60) per game. Senior
Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) is second in the PSAC in caused turnovers per game (2.60) and has picked up a team-high 31 ground balls, while Sophomore
Tiffany Diachynsky (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) has 23 caused turnovers and 28 ground balls.
Delaney Schappert (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) is third on the team in caused turnovers (15), and
Lana Paulo (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township) has 14 caused turnovers and 21 ground balls. DiPasquale has been stellar in the cage for the Huskies this season, ranking second in the conference with a .558 save percentage, and her 8.55 goals against average (GAA) is good for third in the PSAC.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
• Kutztown rides a three-game win streak into Steph Pettit Stadium Tuesday, with the Golden Bears most recent win coming in the form of a 15-9 triumph over Gannon Saturday afternoon. Emily Smith paced the Golden Bears with four goals and an assist, while Bowman tallied three goals and an assist. Destanee Watkins and Lauren Schmidt each added two goals and a helper in the victory. This marks the first time that Kutztown has won three consecutive games since the start of the 2017 season.
• Erin Vaughan Ware leads the Golden Bears in total points (30) and assists (14) this season, while Schmidt and Bowman are tied for the team-lead in goals with 19 apiece. Allie McCormick leads Kutztown in draw controls with 26, and Smith has 11 goals, six assists, 22 draw controls, a team-high 14 caused turnovers, and 19 ground balls. Watkins leads the team in that category, scooping up 32 ground balls on the year.
• Megan Vaughan has started three games for the Golden Bears this season, and has a .474 save percentage and 27 saves. Haley Kline has a team-high 39 saves and a .443 save percentage in four starts, but the sophomore is just 1-3 with a 12.25 goals against average.
LOOKING AHEAD
• Following Tuesday's game, Bloomsburg is idle until next Wednesday, April 10, when the Huskies travel to Lock Haven for a PSAC battle beginning at 4:00 p.m. Bloomsburg returns home on Saturday, April 13, to host Slippery Rock.
