PREVIEW: Women's Lacrosse Wraps Up Regular Season Against Gannon Saturday

THE STORY
• The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team closes out the 2019 regular season at home this Saturday against visiting Gannon University. The Huskies were eliminated from contention for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament berth with a loss to #14 East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, but are currently ranked third in the Atlantic Region heading into Saturday's game. 

ATLANTIC REGION RANKINGS
• The Huskies are ranked third in the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Rankings released this week, behind West Chester and East Stroudsburg. Bloomsburg has lost three straight contests to ranked opponents, but sports a 10-5 record in the Atlantic Region. The top four teams in the Region will be selected for the NCAA Division II Tournament.

THE HISTORY: BLOOMSBURG vs. GANNON
• The Huskies trail the all-time series with Gannon 10-8, including a 12-10 loss to the Golden Knights on the final day of the regular season in 2018. Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley), Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side), and Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) had two points apiece for Bloomsburg in the loss. The Huskies earned a 21-15 win over Gannon when the teams last met at Steph Pettit Stadium in 2017.

LAST TIME OUT
Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) netted a team-high three goals, but the Huskies were outscored 9-4 in the second half of a 14-8 loss to 14th-ranked East Stroudsburg Wednesday. Kelleher had a goal and three assists, and Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) added a goal and an assist for Bloomsburg in the loss. 

THE HUSKIES FILE 
• Prior to Saturday's game, seniors Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area), Jordynn Kurcoba (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira), Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape), and student assistant Hannah Getz will be honored for their tremendous careers at Bloomsburg. Jaskuta is tied for the team-lead in goals with 38 this season, while Nocito and Kurcoba have helped the Huskies defense lead the PSAC in caused turnovers per game (16.00) and ground balls per game (27.06). Nocito leads the Huskies, and ranks third in the conference in caused turnovers per game at 2.50 this season.

• Kelleher paces the Huskies with 65 points on 38 goals and a team-high 27 assists on the year. She has been stellar recently, tallying 38 points in her last five games, and 17 assists over that span. She leads the PSAC in points per game (5.42), ranks third in assists per game (2.25), and sixth in goals per game (3.17).

• In goal, junior Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) ranks third in the PSAC with a .535 save percentage and is eighth with a 9.70 goals against average. She is also one of four goalkeepers in the league averaging more than ten saves per game on the year. DiPasquale is tops on the team with 47 ground balls.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
• Gannon snapped an 11-game losing skid with a 9-8 victory over Slippery Rock Wednesday, but the Golden Knights are just 3-12 overall, and 1-10 in the PSAC entering Saturday's game. Gannon ranks 11th in the PSAC in points per game this season.

• Erin Rotondo has been a dynamic scoring threat for the Golden Knights this season, ranking fourth in the PSAC in goals per game (3.40) and third in shots per game (7.93). Rachel Tufts has 36 points on 30 goals and six assists, and Kayla Shields has 16 goals and six assists. 

• Erin Renwick has started all 15 games in goal for Gannon this season, and is 3-11 with a 15.91 GAA and .432 save percentage. She ranks third in the PSAC in saves per game (11.87).
