BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team is heading back to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Soccer tournament title game after the Huskies defeated Mercyhurst, 2-0, last Friday. Bloomsburg is in search of its fifth PSAC championship and second in the last three seasons.

The Game
Bloomsburg earned a spot in the championship game with a 2-0 win over the No. 1 seed from the West, Mercyhurst University. Freshman
Erin Ranegan (Wilmington, Del./Conrad School of Science) scored her first collegiate goal in the 68
th minute to give BU a 1-0 lead. Sophomore
Lauren Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) cushioned the lead for Bloomsburg with her fourth goal of the year with less than 10 minutes to play. Sophomore
Alexa Ryan (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) turned in her 13
th clean sheet of the season as she made two stops in the shutout victory.
Millersville claimed its spot in the title game after defeating the No. 2 seed from the West, Gannon, 1-0, on Friday. Morgan Winchock was the difference maker for the Marauders as she scored off of a Millersville corner kick in the 40
th minute. Reagan Kolinski made three saves in the final 45 minutes of action to seal the win for the Ville.
The Series
Bloomsburg has dominated the series against Millersville since it began in 1994. The Huskies own a 25-5-6 series lead and have won five-straight contests. They are 14-1-5 against the Ville on their home field. Bloomsburg holds an 8-1-1 advantage in the series in the last 10 matches, including a 4-0 win in the NCAA Atlantic Region second round during the 2019 season.
Scouting the Huskies
Bloomsburg enters the tournament as the top defensive team in the PSAC this season. The Huskies boast a measly 0.40 goals against average for the season and have posted a conference-best 13 shut outs in 20 games. Just once this season has a team scored more than one goal on the Huskies as Kutztown earned a 2-1 win earlier this season. Bloomsburg is sixth in the league in scoring, averaging 1.78 goals per game and have been shut out just four times. Bloomsburg's school record for shutouts in a season is 13.5.
Leading the defense for Bloomsburg is sophomore goalie
Alexa Ryan (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus). Ryan has started in every game for the Huskies as has played every minute of the season. She has a 0.40 GAA after allowing just eight goals in 20 games. Ryan has 36 saves this season for a .818 save percentage. Senior defender
Natalie Holmes is an anchor on the Huskies back line once again this season. Holmes leads the team with five goals and six assists so far this year and is a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kicks. Holmes' defense has limited opponents to just 101 shots this year and just 45 shots on goal.
On the offensive side of the field, seniors

Helen Flynn and freshman
Brooke Foster have provided offensive fireworks for the Huskies. Each have four goals on the year while Harris added three assists to her stat line this season. Junior
Campbell Power (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) leads the team with four assists to go with a pair of game-winning goals this season.
Sophomore
Lauren Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) has provided a spark to the Huskies' line up in the last two weeks as she scored three game-winning goals in her first three games in the lineup. Bull added an insurance goal for the Huskies in their 2-0 win in the PSAC Semifinals over Mercyhurst.
Freshman
Erin Ranegan (Wilmington, Del./Conrad School of Science) scored the game-winner against Mercyhurst for her first goal of the season.
Scouting the Marauders
The Marauders come into today's game on a hot streak having posted two-straight upsets to advance to the tournament finals. The Marauders advanced on penalty kicks against the top seed in the East, Kutztown, before blanking the No. 2 seed from the West, Gannon, 1-0.
Millersville is averaging 1.42 goals per game while allowing 1.16.
Winchock leads the team with eight goals and two assists this season while Lauren Downey has dished out a team-best six assists this season. Reagan Kolinski has started every minute for the Marauders in goal and has a 1.10 goals against average. She has a 0.776 save percentage with 76 saves this season.
PSAC All-Conference Honorees
The championship weekend will feature 17 All-Conference honorees between the four teams, two Defensive Athletes of the Year, one Athlete and one Rookie of the Year, and the Coach of the Year. In the East, the Huskies' graduate student
Natalie Holmes was named the PSAC Defensive Player of the Year and six players between the Huskies and Marauders were named to the All-PSAC East First Team. Two other players from Millersville earned Second Team accolades as well.
On the Western side of the conference, Emily Mijares from Mercyhurst was named the Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year while her teammate Maddie Elbro nabbed Defensive Athlete of the Year honors. Gannon's head coach Colin Petersen took home Coach of the Year accolades.
