CLARION, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University wrestling team dropped its Mid-American Conference (MAC) opener to Clarion University, 33-6, Wednesday afternoon. Senior
Alex Carida (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) and redshirt sophomore
Shane Noonan (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) picked up wins for the Huskies.

Carida earned the Huskies first win of the day at 157 pounds. After going down early, 3-1, after the first period, Carida came back in the second and got a takedown to tie the match at 3-3. He got an escape and another takedown in the final period to seal the 6-3 win.

Noonan picked up a win for Bloomsburg in the final match of the day as he came from behind to win 8-5 in the 285 heavy weight bout. Like Carida, Noonan went down early to Tyler Bagoly but worked his way back and sealed the victory with a takedown in the final seconds of the third period for his 8-5 decision.

The Huskies are back in action after finals against LIU on December 15 for a 7:00 pm match in Brooklyn, NY.
