SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's track and field team sent junior
Lauren O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and freshman
Bailey Corrigan (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) to the Bill Lennox Invite and Multi, hosted by Slippery Rock University, to compete in the heptathlon. The duo opened the meet in 13th and 14th place, respectively, Thursday afternoon.
O'Malley currently sits in 13th place with 1646 points after the first four events. In the 100-meter hurdles, O'Malley ran a 20.29 and finished the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.39. In the field events for the heptathlon, O'Malley had throw of 7.88 meters in the shot put and cleared a height of 1.34 meters in the high jump.
Meanwhile, Corrigan ran a 19.52 in the 100-meter hurdles and a 31.39 in the 200-meter dash during the track events. She also cleared a height of 1.34 meters in the high jump and threw a distance of 6.45 meters in the shot put.
The pair will complete the heptathlon tomorrow as they compete in the long jump, javelin, and 800-meter run at Slippery Rock.
