LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's track and field team wrapped up the 2021 regular season on Saturday as it competed at the Lock Haven Qualifier in the Huskies final tune-up before the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships next week. Bloomsburg posted two victories while 13 student-athletes registered new personal-bests during the meet.
Both of Bloomsburg's victories came in the field events as senior
Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) earned a victory in the long jump while junior
Sydney Sheaffer (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) had the best mark of the afternoon in the high jump. Stevenson led seven Bloomsburg competitors in the long jump with a winning mark of 5.45 meters - just ahead of junior
Ashley Blannard (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) who finished second at 5.43 meters. Sophomore
Dahlia Hosey (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) was third at 5.18 meters while junior
Erin Rottloff (Bensalem, Pa./Conwell-Egan) placed fifth with a mark of 5.04 meters. Senior
Emilee Wasilewski (Kulpmont, Pa./Mount Carmel Area), freshman
Bailey Corrigan (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area), and freshman
Lauryn Male (Pen Argyl, Pa./Pen Argyl), finished sixth, eighth, and twelfth, respectively.
Sheaffer, meanwhile, posted a personal-best mark of 1.61 meters in the high jump to win the event. Corrigan took fifth by tying a personal-best mark of 1.34 meters.
In the triple jump, Blannard took second after tying a personal-best of 11.67 meters. Wasilewski was fourth with a jump of 10.83 meters while freshman
Carly Fogal (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) and freshman
Sydney Beaverson (York, Pa./Red Lion) finished sixth and seventh overall.
Three others personal bests came in the throws as freshman
Emily Peet (Wallenpaupack, Pa./Wallenpaupack Area) hit a mark of 31.46 meters in the javelin to finish fourth overall - one spot behind sophomore
Molly Raville (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) who was third with a throw of 33.05 meters. Then, in the hammer throw, freshman
Alyssa Dalmagro (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) was 13th with a personal-best mark of 30.98 meters while freshman
Madison Baudille (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon) had a personal-best throw of 25.27 meters to finish 15th. Sophomore
Kendra Yeboah (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland) was sandwiched in the middle as she was 14th at 27.18 meters. Yeboah also led the Huskies in the shot put as she took eighth with a throw of 9.23 meters.
On the track, sophomore
Sarah Castronova (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) had a big afternoon as she finished second in the 100-meter dash, third in the 200-meter dash, and helped the 4x400-meter relay team to a victory on Saturday afternoon. Castronova posted a time of 13.07 in the 100 and 26.21 in the 200. She ran the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that won with a time of 4:14.10. Joining her were freshman

Sydney Beaverson (York, Pa./Red Lion), and freshman

Yamilet Ferrufino (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) ran a personal-best time of 14.05 in the 100-meter dash to finish seventh while Sicinski added a personal-best mark of 1:01.96 in the 400-meter dash to take third in that event.
Bloomsburg's other personal bests came in the 100-meter hurdles as sophomore
Sarah Bubeck (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) ran a time of 17.42 to place third overall while junior
Lauren O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) crossed the finish line in 19.26 to finish sixth. Freshman
Julia Magee (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) was fifth in the event with a time of 17.83.
Freshman
Gabrielle Wetzel (Manchester Township, NJ/Manchester Township) took to the track for the grueling 10000-meter run on Saturday for the first time in her collegiate career. Her time of 42:12.13 was third in the event and moved her into ninth in the conference this season.
The Huskies will head to Shippensburg for the 2021 PSAC Championships to conclude the 2021 campaign. The three-day meet gets underway on Thursday, May 6, and will conclude on Saturday, May 8.
