SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's track and field team finished eighth overall at the 2021 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championship after a stellar final day of the three-day event.

The 4x100-meter relay team of
Melissa Sicinski (Fountainville, Pa./Pennridge),
Sarah Castronova (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley),
Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn),
Sydney Beaverson (York, Pa./Red Lion) kicked off the track events with a seventh-place finish in the finals with a time of 49.93.

Junior
Kathryn Blair (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) earned an all-conference honor in the next race as she took second overall in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:48.29. Blair battled for the second position most of the race with Kyra Gerber of Shippensburg and Darby Roth of Seton Hill. Stefanie Parsons of Edinboro was not going to be caught as she ran a 4:23.97 to take first overall and set a new meet record and hit the NCAA provisional mark. Blair also took fourth in the 800-meter run as she finished with a time of 2:17.87 for her second podium appearance of the day.

Sophomore
Sarah Castronova (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) picked up her first podium appearance of the day and her all-conference honor as she took second overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.88.

After the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash were canceled on Friday due to severe weather, the finals scheduled for Saturday turned into a timed-finals. Castronova finished seventh with a time of 25.98 for her second podium appearance of the day.

Sophomore
Nicole Keeley (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) ran an impressive personal-best in the 5,000-meter run as she took fourth overall with a time of 18:12.29.

Blair, senior
Jessica Brenfleck (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), Castronova, and Sicinski finished the day on the track for the Huskies with a seventh-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a season-best time of 4:03.79.

Junior
Ashley Blannard (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) earned her second all-conference honor of the weekend as she took third overall in the triple jump with a personal-best jump of 11.70 meters. Sophomore
Dahlia Hosey (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) also hit a personal-best in the triple with a jump of 11.56 meters to take fourth overall and earn a spot on the podiums.

The Huskies season concludes with the championship events. The Huskies finished eighth overall with 52 points.
