BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University wrestling team split a pair duals as the Huskies defeated California Baptist University 27-19 before falling to Lock Haven University in Mid-American Conference (MAC) action.
 
The Huskies opened the afternoon with a 27-19 win over the Lancers. Redshirt sophomore Shane Noonan (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) secured the win for BU with a pin at the 2:56 mark in the heavyweight bout. The Huskies led 21-19 going into the final match and needed at least a decision to secure the match win.
 
Junior Bronson Garber (Millersburg, Pa./Upper Dauphin) opened the day for the Huskies with 3-2 decision in the 125 match before a forfeit by the Lancers at 133 gave Bloomsburg a 9-0 lead in the match. Redshirt junior Josh Mason (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) got his first pin of the day at 141 as he got the fall at the 2:36 mark over Brandon Paulson. The pin for Mason was his 20^th of his career and moved him into a tie for ninth in the all-time pin list.
 
Bloomsburg pushed its match lead to 21-6 after another forfeit at 157 pounds. The Lancers then won the next four matches to get within two, 21-19, and to set up Noonan's match-sealing pin.

Junior Cole Rhone (Benton, Pa./Benton Area) earned the first win of the match for the Huskies against Lock Haven. Rhone picked up a hard-fought 11-3 win at 133 pounds to get Bloomsburg on the scoreboard. Mason followed with his second pin of the day at 141 pounds and the 21^st of his career. The 21 pins gives him sole possession of ninth all-time at BU.


 
The Bald Eagles had the Huskies' number in the final seven matches and earned a 34-9 team win.
