BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University wrestling team fell to George Mason University, 26-9, Sunday afternoon in Mid-American Wrestling action. The Huskies dropped to 5-4 in duals and 0-3 against MAC teams while the Patriots improved to 7-4 for the season.
 
Redshirt junior Josh Mason (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) got the Huskies on the board at 141 as he earned a hard-fought 5-0 decision over Shawn Nonaka. Mason got a take down early in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. After a scoreless second period, Mason got his second takedown of the day in the third after starting neutral and earned the riding time point for his 5-0 decision.

Senior #30 Alex Carida (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) picked up a major decision over Loranzo Rajaonarivelo in the 157-pound match to improve to 14-8 for the year and 6-1 in duals. Carida opened the match with a takedown and got a four-point near fall to take a 6-0 lead. Rajaonarivelo escaped to get on the board but Carida got another takedown for the 8-1 lead. Rajaonarievlo earned an esacpe as time was expiring in the first to cut the lead to 8-2. Carida pushed his lead to 13-3 after the second period with a pair of takedowns and an escape. He closed out the match with a takedown and riding time to earn his 16-4 major decision.
 
Shane Noonan (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) closed out the match for the Huskies with a 6-3 decision over Austin Stith in the 285-pound match. Stith opened the match with a takedown but a pair of escapes in the first and second period for Noonan tied the match at 2-2. Noonan got a takedown midway through the second and after a quick escape by Stith, Noonan closed out the second with another takedown for the 6-3 lead. The two spent the final period neutral and Noonan hung on for the 6-3 win.
