MOOSIC, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University men's golf team had a strong showing in the team's first match of the 2022 season as the Huskies beat King's College (Pa.) and fell to the University of Scranton at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pa. on Thursday.
The Huskies finished with a final score of 326 with its top five golfers, which was good enough to finish second in between Scranton (310) and King's (339).
Freshman
Jarred Berrish (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and junior
Jason Uebelacker (Rochester, N.Y./Spencerport) led the Huskies as both players shot an 80. Sophomore
Pat Uebelacker (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) was third on the team with a score of 82.
John Haley IV (Norristown, Pa./Methacton High School) and Ben Galko rounded out the top five with scores of 84 and 85.
Scranton's Jack Novis led all golfers with a low score of 74.
The women's round of the event was canceled.
The men's golf team will be back in action with a match at Alvernia on Tuesday, September 27. Meanwhile, the women will head to Bucknell University for a two-day event in its next outing on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25.
