CARLISLE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's swim team knocked off 23
rd-ranked IUP 108-95 behind 28 top-five finishes, five event wins, and 15 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) times at the Keystone Aquatic Center, Friday night.

The Huskies opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as
Gabi Walsh (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown),
Julia Riegel (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks South),
Tara Kupsky (Bear Creek Township, Pa./Wyoming Seminary), and
Sydney Lloyd (Nescopeck, Pa./Berwick) touched the wall at 1:50.73, edging out IUP's second team which finished at 1:51.37. The two teams swam neck-and-neck before Kupsky's 24.08 in the 50-yard freestyle anchor leg.

Maddie Osanitsch picked up the first win for the Huskies as she took first in the 200-yard free with a PSAC qualifying time of 1:56.87.
Katie Eisenhofer (Reading, PA/Schuylkill Valley) came in third at 1:59.53 and
Anna Sugra (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) finished fourth at 2:00.13. Both times for the Huskies were season bests and PSAC qualifiers. Shaffer finished seventh with a season best and PSAC qualifying time at 2:01.14.

Taleah Ruben (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) finished third overall in the 200-IM with a PSAC-time of 2:15.15 while Riegel took fourth with a PSAC-time of 2:16.03.

The Huskies swept the top-four positions in the 50-yard free as
Courtney Hubric (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) won the event with a time of 24.08 while
Rylee Wenzel (West Lawn, PA/Wilson High School) finished second at 24.39. Lloyd took third at 24.77 and Ali Lehman finished the sweep with a time of 25.30 to finish fourth. All four times were PSAC qualifying times.

Shaffer finished second overall in the 50-yard butterfly at 26.72 while
Grace Beierschmitt (Dover, Pa./Dover) was right on her heels for a third-place finish at 26.82. Lloyd took fourth at 27.12 and Walsh finished fifth with a time of 27.89.

Wenzel won the 100-yard free with a time of 52.42 and Hubric took second at 53.83. Eisenhofer took fifth overall with a time of 55.69, her fastest time this season.

Osanitsch took second overall with a time of 5:13.88 in the 500-yard freestyle while
Katie Sharkey (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) picked a team point for the Huskies with a fifth-place finish at 5:29.81.

Wenzel, Lloyd, Beierschmitt, and Hubric won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:37.81. Wenzel got the Huskies off on a blazing hot start with a 24.70 in the first 50 yards while Hubric anchored the team with a 24.24 final 50. Shaffer, Walsh, Lehman, and Eisenhofer took second with a time of 1:40.07.

Beierschmitt won the 50-yard backstroke with a. time of 27.52 and Walsh took third at 27.99. Lehman finished fourth overall with a time of 28.18.

Ruben and Sugra tied for third with a time of 31.69 while Riegel took fifth with a time of 31.81 in the 50-yard breaststroke.

The Huskies closed out the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Hubric, Eisenhofer, Beierschmitt, and Wenzel combined for a time of 3:38.12. Osanitsch, Lehman, Sugra, and Shaffer took third with a time of 3:40.04 to pick up two team points for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg gets back in the pool tomorrow when they face off against Millersville and IUP in the final day of the Pidgeon Invitational in a two-session open invitational format beginning at 9:00 am at the Keystone Aquatic Center.
