BLOOMSBURG, Pa.- The Bloomsburg wrestling team fell to #18 Rutgers University, 45-0, Friday evening in a non-conference match at Nelson Field House.
 
The match began at 141 pounds as redshirt senior Josh Mason (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) took on #12 Sammy Alvarez. The two battled through scoreless first and second periods before Alvarez's riding time in the third period made the difference for the 1-0 win.
 
The Scarlet Knights took the next five matches by bonus point wins before Tanner Culver (Hartland, Mich./Hartland) took on Billy Janzer at 197 pounds. Janzer struck first with an early take down but Culver got an escape to cut the score to 2-1. Janzer ended the period with another take down to lead 4-1 after the first period. The two battled to a scoreless second period before Janzer got another two take downs and Culver had an escape in the third. Janzer closed out the match with the riding time point to win 9-2.
 
Rutgers closed out the match with three-straight bonus point wins to take the team win.
