TEAM NOTES
• Josh Mason (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) is set to wrestle in his final season as a Husky. He led Bloomsburg with 23 wins last season, including nine falls and a team-best 11 bonus point wins. Mason is a two-time NCAA Tournament qualifier for Bloomsburg after finishing as the runner-up at 141 pounds at the MAC championships and going 3-1 in the tournament. He took eighth at 141 pounds at the Midlands and fourth at 141-A at the Journeymen Classic.
• Mason is 67-39 all-time at Bloomsburg with 37 pins for his career. The 37 falls is fifth all-time at Bloomsburg and Mason needs just eight pins to move into a three-way tie for second and nine for sole possession of second. The Huskies all-time pin leader is Shorty Hitchcock with 58 pins from 1969-1974.
• Mason needs just 23 wins this season to become the 19th 100-win wrestler at Bloomsburg. His 23 wins last season was his highest single-season win total with the Huskies, which he posted 19 wins in 2019-20, 5 in a COVID-shorted 2020-21 season, and 20 wins in 2021-22.
• Shane Noonan (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) looks to build on a strong 2022-23 campaign in which he finished second on the team with 20 wins and had a team-best 10 falls. Noonan finished on the podium at the MAC championships with an eighth-place finish at 285-pounds after going 2-2 in the championship tournament. He took first at the Journeymen Classic last season in the 285-C bracket,
• Cade Balestrini (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) had a solid sophomore campaign for the Huskies. He finished with 16 wins, third most on the team, and eight bonus point wins, including four falls, three tech falls, and a major decision. Balestrini took second in the 157-C bracket at the Journeymen Classic and seventh at the Midlands at 157 pounds.
• Bronson Garber (Millersburg, Pa./Upper Dauphin) finished the season with 11 wins last year and has 25 in his career at Bloomsburg. Garber took first in the 125-C bracket at the Journeymen Classic last season and fifth at the Wilkes Open at 125 pounds. He has six bonus point wins including two falls, a tech fall, and three major decisions.
• Bruno Stolfi (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) went 11-9 last year and 6-6 in dual meets in 2022-23. He had seven bonus point wins last year, including five falls, a tech fall, and a major decision. He finished fifth at 184 pounds at the Wilkes Open.
• The Huskies welcome three transfers to the roster who look to make an immediate impact. Kordell Waiters (Emmaus, Pa./Smithfield) transferred from Lackawanna Community College and went 13-1 during the 2022-23 season. Harrison Levans (Conshohocken, Pa./Germantown Academy) comes to Bloomsburg from West Virginia and picked up a pair of wins with the Mountaineers. Kolby Flank (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) transferred to Bloomsburg from University of Pittsburgh.
• Bloomsburg brought in 10 freshman to the 2023-24 roster, including Nick Antonelli (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis), Ashton Campbell (Kintersville, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), Michael Duggan (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs), Riley Hughes (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), Major Lewis (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity), Macon Myers (York, Pa./Central York), Mason Rebuck (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy), Luke Thomas (Whitehall, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), Andrew Wolfe (/), and Nolen Zeigler (Loysville, Pa./West Perry).
