CLARION, Pa. – The Bloomsburg wrestling team returned to action as the Huskies took on Mid-American Conference (MAC) opponent Clarion in a Friday night showdown. The Golden Eagles came out on top, 36-6, after the Huskies picked up a pair of decisions at 141 and 165 pounds.
 
Junior Michael Cassidy (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) earned the first win of the night for the Huskies as he defeated Jack Martinec 5-3 at 141-pounds. Cassidy is wrestling up a weight class from 133, where he wrestled his sophomore season. He is now 2-1 at 141 pounds this season, after moving up a class right before the holidays.
 
Freshman Caden Dobbins (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) continued his dominance this season for the Huskies with his 7-0 decision over Eli Brinsky at 165 pounds. Dobbins burst on the scene for Bloomsburg and is currently tied for second on the year for BU with 12 wins. He has a team-best eight wins in dual matches for Bloomsburg.
 
The Huskies return to action next Sunday, January 21, when Bloomsburg hosts rival Lock Haven in a 1:00 pm dual at Nelson Fieldhouse. The meet against the Bald Eagles is the first home match of the season for the Huskies. Clarion 36, Bloomsburg 6
