BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg women's swimming team swept its two meets against Clarion (104-83) and Lycoming (156-19) on Friday.
How It Happened:
The Huskies began their meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Gabi Walsh (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown), Vanesa Valli (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk), Rylee Wenzel (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) and Rachel Cunningham (Hanover, Pa./South Western) came together to finish in a time of 1:48.51 for the win. Morgan Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) started her day with a victory of her own in the 200 freestyle. Holmes touched the wall in a time of 1:58.23, cutting over three seconds off her time this season and posting a PSAC-cut time.
Wenzel and Cunningham jumped back in the pool to post season-best times in the 50-yard freestyle. Wenzel brought home her second victory of the day with a time of 23.74 in the event, besting her mark this season .42. Cunningham knocked .73 off her time this season with a mark of 24.16. Julia Riegel (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) posted a PSAC-standard time with a finish of 25.64.Â
The 200 IM saw a trio of Huskies improve this season with PSAC-qualifying times. Valli took home the win in the race with a time of 2:14.05. Grace McBlain (Aldan, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) took second after reaching the wall in 2:16.19. Samantha Linsey (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) rounded out Bloomsburg's performance in the event with a time of 2:17.58. McBlain followed up that race with a PSAC-standard time of 59.70. Ashley Martin (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) and Jordyn Kinnee (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) finished back-to-back in the race with conference-cut times of 1:00.52 and 1:01.01.Â
Wenzel wrapped up her day with her third win and second individual sprint victory in the 100-yard freestyle. Wenzel finished in 52.65 to lead all competitors. Holmes took second in the race, shaving over a second off her time this season for a PSAC-qualifying mark of 53.07. Cunningham ended her day with a .80-second improvement to touch the wall at 53.79. In the 100-yard backstroke. McBlain improved her season-best and PSAC-standard mark with a time of 1:00.48. Walsh finished just behind her with a PSAC-cut time of 1:00.78.
Madison Osanitsch (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) finished the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:18.75 to set a PSAC-qualifying mark. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Valli notched her third win of the day with a conference-cut time of 1:08.75. Sadie Ludwick (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) secured second for the Huskies with a PSAC-standard mark of 1:10.02. Bloomsburg wrapped up competition in the mixed 400-yard free relay. Holmes and Sidney Beers (DeBois, Pa./DuBois Area) teamed up with Jack Drake and Andrew Holmes to take the win at 3:23.39.

The Huskies are back in the pool from Friday, November 22, to Sunday, November 24, for the F&M Invite.
