BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Bloomsburg wrestling fell to Clarion 40-3 in a Mid-American Conference match up, Thursday night.

William Morrow (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) led the Huskies with a come-from behind win at 157 pounds. After a scoreless first period, John Altieri got on the board first with an escape and eventual takedown for a 4-0 lead after two full periods. Morrow chose bottom to start the third and got his escape and takedown to tie the match 4-4. Altieri got an escape to take a 5-4 lead but Morrow continued to be the aggressor and got a final takedown to win 7-5.

The 165-pound match between Leo Hess III (Mansfield, Ohio/Mansfield) and Wesley Barnes followed as another thrilling match, though Barnes got the sudden victory win. Barnes had an early takedown in the first period for the 3-0 lead and chose bottom in the second to take a 4-0 lead into the third. Hess chose bottom in the third and quickly got an escape to limit Barnes' riding time. Hess tied the match with a takedown early enough in the third and kept and Barnes from escaping to bleed his riding time under a minute and send the match into overtime. Barnes struck first in the extra period with a takedown and four-count near-fall for the 11-4 win.

Mason Rebuck (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) and Ethan Wiant battled to the final horn in the 197-pound bout. The two grapplers finished the first period scoreless and Wiant chose bottom to start the second after Rebuck deferred. Wiant scored first with a reversal and two-count near-fall but Rebuck answered immediately with a reversal of his own to cut the score in half, 4-2. Wiant ended the second with another reversal for the 6-2 lead. Rebuck chose bottom for the third and got a quick reversal to pull back within two points, 6-4, but Wiant got his escape to push his lead to 7-4 and neither wrestler could take control for the rest of the match for the 7-4 win for Wiant.
