BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Bloomsburg wrestling team earned a pair of wins at the LIU Tri-Meet on Tuesday, December 9. The Huskies ran away with a 47-6 win over Nassau County Community College before taking down host LIU 20-13. The Huskies posted 11 total bonus point wins between the two matches.

Bloomsburg vs Nassau County Community College
The Huskies opened the day with a dominant win 47-6 win over NCCC.
Jace Schafer (Fairport, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) set the tone with a tech fall at 125 to give the Huskies a 5-0 lead.
Gavin Mundy (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Military Academy) (133) and
Richie Woods (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) (141) followed suit with tech falls of their own before Dustin Elliot gave Bloomsburg 21-0 lead with a pin at 149 pounds.

NCCC grabbed a win at 157 with a pin but the Huskies rebounded as
William Morrow (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) posted a tech fall at 165 pounds.
Braidon Woodward (Canisto-Greenwood, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) had the fifth tech fall for the Huskies at 174 pounds before
Ethan Ducca (Chardon, Ohio/St. John's) pushed the Huskies lead to 37-6 with a pin at 184.

Coy Raines (North Chille, N.Y./Churchville-Chille) (197) and
Mason Rebuck (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) (285) finished off the match with back-to-back tech falls for the Huskies to give Bloomsburg a 47-6 win. Bloomsburg posted a bonus point win in all 10 matches against NCCC.

Bloomsburg vs LIU
The Huskies closed out the night with a strong 20-13 win over LIU. Schafer once again got the Huskies off to a strong start with a 17-0 tech fall over Sawyer Ostroff at 4:18. LIU picked up a major decision at 133 and a win at 141 before Elliot gave the Huskies an 8-7 match lead with a 9-3 decision over Tommy Bonasera at 149 bounds.

LIU won 5-0 at 157 pounds to pull ahead 10-8 but Bloomsburg rattled off four-straight wins to seal the match win.
Braidon Woodward (Canisto-Greenwood, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) won 7-1 at 165 pounds before Alderfer won 11-8 at 174 pounds to give Bloomsburg a 14-10 lead.
Ethan Ducca (Chardon, Ohio/St. John's) won in extra time 4-1 over Anthony D'Alesio to give Bloomsburg a 17-10 lead before Raines clinched the match for the Huskies with a 7-3 decision over John Dusza at 197 pounds.

LIU finished off the match with a narrow 2-1 decision at heavy weight.
