LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Four members of the Bloomsburg men's tennis team earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) honors while
Alejandro Higuera (Ciudad Obregon, Mexico/Colegio Weston) was named Freshman of the Year as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.

Higuera excelled in his rookie campaign with the Huskies, posting a record of 8-3 in singles competition. The freshman had a five-match win streak entering the NCAA Tournament, highlighted by clinching a back-and-forth battle against Millersville in the PSAC Semifinals at No. 5 singles. Across dual matches and tournaments, Higuera collected 11 total wins. Higuera is the second Husky in a row to win the PSAC Freshman of the Year award.

Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/) landed a spot on the All-PSAC First Team for the second year in a row. Dementev, the 2024 PSAC Freshman of the Year, continued to build on his impressive Bloomsburg career with a record 10-3 as the Huskies top singles competitor. The St. Petersburg, Russia native ended the season on a six-match win streak. His final two matches of the year against the 2025 PSAC Athlete of the Year, Edinboro's Stanislas Noel, went unfinished in both the PSAC and NCAA Tournament.

Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) picked up his second career all-conference nod and first career singles honor with a spot on the All-PSAC First Team. After finishing the 2023-24 season with a 2-8 record, Patel went 6-4 this year in dual matches while totaling nine wins across matches and tournaments.

Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada) and Dementev earned PSAC First Team Doubles honors for the first time in their careers. The duo went 9-4 in doubles matches this season, including a 7-4 record at No. 2 doubles. They are the first Huskies' pair to earn first team doubles honors since Lucas Pedrotti and Bernardo Abreu in 2019.

Casamitjana was also named to the All-PSAC Second Team as a singles competitor after recording an 8-7 record. The junior served primarily as the Huskies No. 3 singles competitor, posting a 5-4 record from that spot.

Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) and Patel find themselves as the lone All-PSAC Second Team Doubles duo for the second year in a row. The pair served as the Huskies' top doubles duo for the entirety of the 2024-25 season earning a record 8-6 in dual matches this season. Across two seasons of competition together, Patel and Dilan amassed 20 wins in two seasons.

The Bloomsburg men's tennis team finished a memorable 2024-45 campaign as the PSAC Runner-Up, earned its first trip to the NCAA tournament since 2012 and posted an overall record of 11-4.
