LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg field hockey team has been ranked fifth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) as voted on by the league's head coaches in the annual preseason poll on Monday.

The Huskies enter the 2025 season fresh off the program's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2011. Bloomsburg spent the entirety of the 2024 season nationally-ranked by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) while being ranked fourth for most of the season.

Sat atop the poll is the Kutztown, who received seven first-place votes after making a trip to the NCAA Championship game. East Stroudsburg placed second with a pair of first-place votes while the reigning PSAC Champions, Shippensburg, claimed third with one first-place vote. West Chester claimed fourth while the Huskies are tabbed fifth. Mansfield, IUP and Millersville earned sixth through eighth while Frostburg State (No. 9) and Slippery Rock (No. 10) round out the preseason poll.

KEY RETURNERS
Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) will look to continue her success at Bloomsburg after posting her second 19-point season with the maroon and gold. In 2024, the junior finished second on the team in goals with nine and tying for third in points.

Kate Ferguson (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) returns to Bloomsburg for her final season after a breakout season in 2024. The forward posted 19 points across 21 games, finished tied for third on the team in points alongside
Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs). Ferguson placed third on the team in goals with eight.

Senior forwards
Morgan Magditch (Kintersville, Pa./Palisades) and
Jessica Serafin (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) also return for 2025 and bring a wealth of experience to the Huskies' offence.

The senior duo of
Jasmine Fink (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) and
Gracie Brosious (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) look to be key pieces of the defense for the Huskies. The pair have combined for 76 games played and 43 starts during their time at Bloomsburg.

With the departure of goalkeeper
Jackie Nevel (Nescopeck, Pa./Berwick Area) due to graduation, a new face will take over the cage in 2025. Senior
Maura Greek (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) will hold down the net for the Huskies, entering 2025 three years of experience with the maroon and gold.

SCHEDULE NOTES
Field hockey's 2025 schedule sees the Huskies play a 17-gmae slate with nine home contests at Steph Pettit Stadium.

Bloomsburg opens the season with a three-game road trip to New England. The season-opener is on Thursday, September 4 as the Huskies take on Bentley. The remainder of the road trip features matchups against Franklin Pierce and American International.

The home-opener for Bloomsburg is on Wednesday, September 10 as Pace comes to town. The PSAC slate begins on Saturday, September 21 against Frostburg State in the middle of a five-game homestand.

Senior Day for the Huskies will be held on Saturday, November 1 against Millersville.

The PSAC Tournament kicks off against November 4. The championship weekend will be held on November 7 and 9 at the highest seed.
