MANAHAWKIN, N.J. — In the preseason edition of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II National Coaches Poll, the Bloomsburg field hockey team was ranked sixth as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The Huskies enter the 2025 season fresh off a successful 2024 campaign, earning the program's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2011.

Bloomsburg will look to senior
Kate Ferguson (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) and junior
Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) on offense to drive the scoring and provide veteran leadership this season. The duo combined for 17 goals and 38 points last season.

Sitting atop the preseason poll is NCAA Runner-Up Kutztown with one first-place vote. Second in the poll is the defending National Champions, Saint Anselm, with four first-place. The Hawks became the first non-PSAC school to win the national championship since 2010. East Stroudsburg earned one first-place and is ranked third. No. 4 Shippensburg and No. 5 Assumption sit just ahead of the Huskies. West Chester placed seventh while Southern New Hampshire sits in eighth. Mansfield takes the number nine spot on the preseason poll while Newberry rounds out the top ten.

The Huskies open the season on Thursday, September 4 with a 7 p.m. contest at Bentley.
