Bloomsburg, Pa. – Bloomsburg Athletics and the Husky Elite Wrestling Club (HEWC) are thrilled to announce the Houk & Sanders Wrestling Room Dedication Celebration, honoring Russ Houk and Roger Sanders, the two winningest coaches in Bloomsburg Wrestling history.

This special event, set for Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Nelson Field House within the Pettit Athletic Complex, will celebrate the enduring legacy of these coaching icons whose leadership elevated Bloomsburg Wrestling to national prominence and shaped generations of Husky student-athletes.

The dedication ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m., following guest arrival at 10:30 a.m., with a reception and guided walk-through of the newly named Houk & Sanders Wrestling Room at 11:45 a.m. The event will feature welcome remarks, reflections from Head Coach John Stutzman and alumni, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the unveiling of the updated wrestling room, complete with brand-new mats funded through generous donor support. A picnic-style lunch reception will follow in the Nelson Field House gym, offering families, alumni, and friends a chance to connect and explore the enhanced facility.

"We are incredibly excited to honor Coaches Houk and Sanders, and their impact on Bloomsburg Wrestling our student-athletes," said Head Coach John Stutzman. "This dedication is a testament to their legacy, and we would love to see a great turnout of alumni and Husky Wrestling supporters to celebrate this historic occasion with us and to help thank all the donors and supporters who made this possible."

The Houk & Sanders Wrestling Room stands as a tribute to the coaches' remarkable contributions to the sport, the university, and the countless student-athletes they mentored. Deadline to RSVP is Monday August 27.
