BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The Bloomsburg wrestling team battled through a challenging MAC dual against George Mason at home on Friday evening, falling 39-6, but not without several competitive and hard-fought bouts across the lineup.

At 125 pounds, Jace Schafer (Fairport, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) set the tone with a disciplined defensive effort against Ben Monn. Schafer limited scoring opportunities early and kept the match within one possession throughout, but Monn's timely takedown proved to be the difference as Schafer dropped a narrow 4-1 decision.

The Huskies were inches away from a breakthrough at 133 pounds, where Gavin Mundy (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Military Academy) engaged in one of the most competitive bouts of the night. Mundy traded takedowns and reversals with JB Dragovich through regulation, forcing sudden victory. In overtime, Dragovich capitalized on an opening to secure the winning takedown, edging Mundy 10-7 in SV-1.

At 141 pounds, Richie Woods (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) showed flashes of offense against Tate Hisey, generating movement in neutral and fighting through multiple scrambles. Hisey ultimately pulled away late to claim a 16-4 major decision, but Woods continued to press the pace through all three periods.

The Patriots added bonus points at 149 pounds, as Dustin Elliott (Delmar, Del./Sussex Tech) faced a difficult matchup with Kaden Cassidy. Cassidy built momentum early with takedowns and near-fall points before closing out a 16-0 technical fall at 1:53.

Bloomsburg responded with a physical effort at 157 pounds from William Morrow (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn). Morrow controlled position and stayed aggressive in neutral exchanges against DJ McGee, but McGee converted late scoring chances to earn an 11-2 major decision.

One of the most competitive bouts of the dual came at 165 pounds, where Braidon Woodward (Canisto-Greenwood, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) and Drew Dickson battled through a full seven minutes. Woodward stayed in constant pursuit, forcing multiple exchanges and keeping the match within a single score until the final moments. Dickson ultimately held on for an 8-6 decision in a tightly contested bout.

At 174 pounds, George Mason's Logan Messer scored a quick fall over Vasilios Dimou just 15 seconds into the first period.

Connor Hudak (Schwenksville, Pa./Spring-Ford) stepped in at 184 pounds and fought through all three periods against Malachi DuVall. Hudak continued to battle despite DuVall's control in the second and third periods, with DuVall eventually securing a 16-0 technical fall at 6:25.

At 197 pounds, Coy Raines (North Chille, N.Y./Churchville-Chille) faced a tough test against Jack Kelly. Raines stayed engaged early and worked through scrambles before Kelly capitalized late, earning a fall at 3:29.
Bloomsburg closed the night on a high note at heavyweight, where Mason Rebuck (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) delivered the Huskies' signature moment of the dual. Rebuck struck quickly with takedowns and maintained pressure on Herbert Billups, finishing the match with a first-period fall at 2:54 to put Bloomsburg on the board.
